Hey All,

I just wanted to leave a quick update. I changed the oil and filter (Easy). Next was the transmission fluid. This is a bit of a handful. To get the filter out on a RK37. You pretty much have to take one of the side members (Bracket) off to get the filter out. I dumped approx 7 gallons. I loaded 8 gallons back in to get the fill line correct. I used the recommended RK fluid for this. I also found a couple hydraulic lines where the nuts had backed way off. I am a ok "wrench" and this was not a big issue. Next will be the front axle. Should be easy. P.S. on the front loader while greasing the fittings. I had 3 zerk fittings snap right off. I have an order on the way. One thing I will say is that everyone at RK is very helpful but lacking in some knowledge. I am sure this is a learning curve. I do need to order a headlamp assembly as the wife took ours out with a tree branch. Good Times.

I will be coming up on my 50 hour service shortly so checking to see where those that have done their own service recycled the old fluids. Does RK accept the fluids back for recycling? They must recycle the fluids from the servicing they do but not sure if we can bring them back to RK. I know that two major auto parts store will accept the oil but not sure of the hydraulic fluid.........Don

I知 almost 150 miles away from a RK. Bit I am sure you are right. The hydraulic fluid is an oil so I think auto store would recycle also.

I dump oil, gear oil, transmission fluid, and hydraulic fluid at autozone.

Our county trash collection site has a waste oil dump. It all gets dumped in together. If I am not mistaken it ends up being burned in commercial waste oil heaters, so mixing grades is not an issue.
