I'm in the market for a 3:1 Right Angle Gearbox for a Scratch Built PTO Powered Attachment I'm building.... I suppose a 2.5:1 would be fine...
Thanks
Thanks
So your looking for speed reduction, correct? ~Scotty
If it was for my mill ,id call WEBSTER ENGINEERING IN LEWISTON,or another one is a place called LANE supply.alan

Alan... Webster can hook me up no doubt, I use them now for my hydraulic hoses, they're less then a mile away from where I work. Problem is price...Specialty shops like that got what you need, at the cost to matchI was hoping to get an offshore, surplus, or used gearbox...I'm trying to keep costs down to a minimum, this project is part "to prove a point" and partly because I want one..
I was waiting for that question, LOL....Honestly I'm looking to build a Power Rake. Part of the "point proving" I was referring to above is I'm wanting to prove there isnt 9k worth of parts & labor in one of these things. I'm at the point where the road forks....find a gearbox or I go hydraulic drive.
Thanks for that link Iron Horse!
Sprocket and chain reduction is relatively cheap way to go and to change RPM's (since you are prototyping) is as simple as a new sprocket.
What final rpm are you looking for at the drum at 540 on the PTO?
How about a bigger roller on the bottom? Scraperpan used a 6" roller.

I'm done and waiting for the ground to soften up. 2k for the rake, $21.00 for the pivot material and some spare C channel. This machine is so new there was paint on the grease fittings and absolutely no wear on the roller teeth. The ram is from the tip and tilt that came with the TC 45 New Holland I had.
Started a new project, a loader for my 4110. Have the bucket almost complete and the loader upper frame. Now waiting for some plasma cut frame mounts that I sent in a pattern for.
I also came across a new 2 to 1 HD angle drive that will complete a flail mower I bought in pieces. I don't think winter will be long enough to get all this done.
Did you start the rake yet ?????
