Grapple RGB2 grapple - price?

Hoping someone here has purchaced or priced a WR Long RGB2 grapple. I think they have been discussed before but I cannot locate them by doing a search. Any info will be greatly appreciated. I am hoping to put one on a JD 2305.

I don't know about the actual graple/cylinder but the hydraulics will cost you either $440 or $520 depending on whether you get the diverter or true third function. The prices include the diverter or solenoid valve, hoses, mountng bracket, QD's and the joystick button. You can email Nelson Long who is a member here at NLong@wrlonginc.com and explain what tractor model and what loader model you have and he will be able to quote you a price. You will probably end up ordering thru a local WR Long dealer and pay some additional freight. Nelson should be ale to tell you who your closest dealer is.

I should have my new Toy next weekend, If I have a recent price , that will help me decide if I should bother with getting a Price or wait until I have the $$$ to purchase.

I think my first purchase will be a Toothbar for sure.

Well, I called W.R. Long and got suggested list prices for the RBG2.
48" - $1705
54" - $1745
PLUS!! Valve kits are either $438 or $519!
Keep in mind these are suggested prices and I am not sure that one is even available to install on the 200CX loader. I need to call back next week and talk to a technical guy/gal.

I personally think these prices are way too high. I friend of mine got a full size RBG installed on his tractor for about $2500.00. If a person paid list it would be $2250.00 plus installation for the small one. There is just no way it can cost that much. I could justify $1200 ~$1500 but not $2500.

They look like they are a strong unit, and I like the BIG bite that they can take. I would be interested in the 72" unit with the true 3rd funtion valve kit.

It will be a few months before I can convince the MYSELF let alone the Wife , to make that purchase !!

I have the WR Long full third function hydraulics and paid $520 + shipping from the local dealer. I installed it myself. I have a grapple from Andy Tatro which I paid $420 for and installed myself. Total cost was under $1000 plus my time.

The price he was quoted sound like a full, stand alone grapple, while your $420 grapple sounds like the upper jaw of a grapple used with an existing bucket?

That's right. I just wanted to point out to others out there that there are other less expensive alternatives to a full blown bucket replacement grapple.

I don't know. To date I have only used it for brush. Several others here on TBN have used it to carry logs. I am sure someone will chip in with their comments.

I may have to go the cheap route and add a grapple to my bucket, but that will be my last choice. If you haven't seen the RBG (Root rake brush grapple) that W.R. Long makes you should check it out on their webpage. I think it would work a lot better than a grapple on a regular bucket for brush and burn piles. Plus it can be used as a root rake.

Jim - I did not opt for the valve kit as I already had a set of extra rear remotes. I plumbed the lines from the rear to use for the grapple open/close function

I bought a RBG72 w/quick attach last year and paid $2250 plus shipping, plus cost of two extra hyd lines. It will handle logs and brush without taking a bucket full of dirt with it.

Consider how much you will use the grapple and under what curcumstances to determine the best grapple for you. If you can get by with a bucket attach grapple add-on - then go that route as it will be less expensive.

Have you priced any other stand alone type grapples like Anbo, etc.for comparison? Implement Cost is usually a pay me now or pay me later situation. I have no regrets about purchasing the WR Long grapple except that I waited so long to do it

The WR Long RBG grapple is the only one I have seen that I like. I would say the price you paid is about right for a 72" full size RBG. The RBG2 is the model I am wanting to get to put on a Sub-Compact tractor. These are smaller ones designed for mini-skid steers and compact tractors. They probably have about 1/2 the steel in them that yours does and they don't open nearly as wide either. I will check out the Anbo.

Suggested retail prices without the valves (per a phone conversation with a WR LONG rep.).
RBG2 48" $1705
RBG2 54" $1745
Those are the only two I priced.
I don't know what the markup is but if you are in good with your dealer I would hope that the actual price paid would be less. I am hoping quite a bit less. I would bet that these things cost about 1/2 that to manufacture. If I could get one for $1500 with the vavles I would take it, but these prices don't include the valve.

Since you have a 3720 you would probably want to go with a 60" or 72" and also you probably could use the full size RBG instead of the RBG2. I don't know for sure about that.. The RBG2 doesn't open as wide as the RBG.

This is exactly the reason a lot of TBNers including myself have taken matters into their own hands, made and installed their own grapple and hydraulics.

You don't need to spend $1700 to get a decent grapple. I paid much less than half that for a 48" Millonzi light duty root grapple with QA mount. It is plenty strong (I think they use the light duty name to disuade folks who are doing serious demo work, there is nothing light duty about the grapple for brush/roots etc). Millonzi seems to sell these through both ebay (where I got one) and through dealers. I believe they are selling now for something around $700. They are made in Ohio and they also have a double jaw 60" version as I recall.
