Thanks Richard. I saddled up on one locally and basically fell in love. Totally the wrong reason to buy a tractor. We are in the process of selling our 46 acre horse farm, so we no longer needed the 2720 we have had for three years.
The 2720 was a good tool and did the work we asked of it. We already had a 5' brush hog, so going larger didn't seem right at the time. It had the 62D mmm with the linkage tied to the 3pt hitch. I learned the hard way, more than once (guess that lesson wasn't learned) to take all the linkage off prior to brush hogging. Those parts are expensive.
Oh well, when we sold it, we missed the extra power. We happened to stop by the big boy toy store to show our new foster child around. Well, good excuse to play myself.
I do like the fit and feel of 3039r. Being 6'3" and over 250, I felt cramped on the 2720. I still enjoy my 2305 for a lot of things. In reading another post on here, one gentleman was explaining how the smaller tractors ride rougher because the find every rut. I am very hopeful the larger tires will not only ride a little higher in the ruts, but also be able to help me perform some leveling (rut removal) of the field. We still have 5 acres. Parts I have never explored. Looking forward to taking a bigger brush hog to it.
