Hello all,

Just wondering, but if a guy were to have a 5035 with a backhoe, could a person retro-fit the Max28 reversible seat onto the 5035? Or would you have to buy a generic backhoe reversible seat? I would think with the two seat setup a lot of tractor/backhoe combos being sold it would become a little tiring jumping back and forth during the course of a day's work.

Thanks,
Bruce

Maybe I'm wrong, but what good would it do to turn the seat around? I don't think that you would be able to move it close enough to the hoe's controls to be able to operate the hoe. I know that on commercial hoes, the seat just spins around and the controls are right there. On these utility type of machines, to me anyway, it looks as if the seat would need to move back towards the hoe well over a foot. Not sure that could be done without some reengineering.

Here is a link to a 4035 with a hoe mounted.

And that's why I posed the question. What would it take to use one seat and not two on these configurations? Some tractor configurations have the gas tank behind the tractor's seat like on the LS. So I think those would be out of the question period unless a person moved their tank to under the operator's platform. I don't own one as yet so I can't walk out and look at it to see what it would take. If it is possible at all. The utility tractor backhoe combo is a matter of compromise. Add a cab to one and now it makes operating the backhoe even more of a PITA because you now have a glass barrier between you and the backhoe operator's station. It's not like with a Case 580 that's for darned sure.

My other thought would be to add a grab bar to the top of the rops to make it easier to climb over the seats when switching operations. Instead of climbing down off the machine, walking around the to the other station and climbing back up into that station and going back and forth. Maybe I'm over thinking it aye? B.

Well it sure is not the cost of that CASE 580 either, maybe half. You know, you get what you pay for. 1/2 the machine for 1/2 the cost. If this is a big concern of yours, then maybe you should be considering a Kubota L45 TLB or an M59. There must be a reason that everyone doesn't build them using just a single swivel seat. Cost would be the first thing that comes to mind, but I don't really know. ;) If you are going to buy a 5035 with a hoe, I personally would get the tractor and a used 580. A warn out 580 will out dig that new 595 hoe any day and cost less to get.

Just my :2cents:
