I have just picked up an older B7100. I think it's early 80's, but not sure right now. It's pretty rough cosmetically, and has some mechanical issues, but it actucally runs pretty good and is capable of working right now. I'm just the type that likes to have everything "new", so I was thinking this tractor would make a great "winter" project. I have restored a few of the old International Harvester Cub Cadets, and they are really easy to do b/c there are many old Cubs around for "parts" tractors, and new parts can be had easily over the net or at the local cub cadet dealership. I was just wondering if anyone restored these older Kubotas, and if so could you post links to any websites that might have "parts" tractors, new parts, etc. Just looking for some tips. Thanks.

I'm not sure how many Kubota parts you'll find but this site is a good place to start;
Antique Tractors - Yesterday's Tractors : Antique Tractor Headquarters
I've used the site for Allis-Chalmer related items.
Good luck and it's good to see the older ones brought back into shape. The reason I bought new Kubotas was because my first ones, that I bought used, were such fine machines.

keep your eyes out for attachments if those are of any interest as they are hard to come by. i've been looking at complete B7100's that come with the attachments i want - FEL or backhoe to purchase the entire tractor just for the attachment. then i can sell the tractor. just can't find any to buy outright.

not sure on parts, i've just ordered stuff directly from kubota so far, front grill and small stuff. ebay seems to have seats, 3PH parts, and other more generic stuff from time to time.

The one I just bought has a MMM on it that I plan to take off this afternoon. I have a zero turn Grasshopper that I mow with so I will never use the mowing deck. I will sell it ASAP. I guess the things I was wondering about mostly were things like the grill, hood, fenders, etc. The hood on this one is fair but that's about it. I'm decent at body work, so maybe I can fix it up. Are there any Kubota sites with Kubota forums with Kubota classifieds? Thought that might be a good place to find parts.

where are you located, price, and what size MMM? if it's a 60" there's a chance i'd be interested, email me a photo of it, including the connections/mountings as there are two styles for the B7100.

i bought the grill from an online dealer, price seemed reasonable to me. i'd price the stuff out first from the online places and go from there. i haven't found any particular wealth of kubota parts anywhere.

I am currently restoring a 1978(?) B7100 gear tractor with a B219 FEL and a Gannon brand box scraper. I bought most of the parts from Will Iddings in the parts department of Messick's ( http://www.messicks.com/ ). I STRONGLY recommend that you salvage as much of the sheet metal as possible. New hoods and fenders are in the $700-$900 range each. Most of the other parts are quite reasonable. If you don't have one, the very first thing to get is the Kubota Tractor Parts List for the Model B7100.

If I can be of any help, let me know.

Pictures guys, pictures, please. A guy and I were both talking about how much we'd like to have B7100s today, though neither one of us really has a need. They're primitive looking, and therefore have a high "cool factor".

Post pictures along the way, so that we can live vicariously through your efforts.

grossgary- I sent you a PM. Email me at tiger9297@yahoo.com

I agree with the "cool" factor of the older Kubotas. I have picked up a B5100 and a B7100 both in the past two weeks. I love the look of these tractors. Funny thing is that I just got the B7100 two days ago (on Saturday) and I've already had two people try to buy it. One friend tried to buy it via email, without having even seen it. I've never owned a Kubota before, but I like the response I'm getting from a resale standpoint.

I have not taken any pics of either of my Kubotas yet. I'll try to get some over this coming long weekend and post them up.

What size gannon box do you use I had someone tell me to get a 44", is a 48" gannon to big for the b7100?

The Gannon on my B7100 is a 42" which is adequate to cover the tire tracks and it came with the tractor when I bought it. I work in tight areas in horse stalls, so wider is not better for me. I have no experience with wider Gannons on the B7100, but I suspect 44" or even 48" is useable (depending on how you use it). The B7100 does well, but I would be concerned about trying to pull too many ripper teeth, too deep. As with most tractors, the B7100 runs out of traction before it runs out of power.
