Restart after running fuel tank dry?

I recently bought an 05 CK25, and have a question.

I grew up on a farm, and am familiar with the potential restart problems if you run a diesel engine out of fuel.

I also know that many modern diesels have overcome this problem. How about the Kioti CK series? Should I make sure this never happens, or is it not a problem?

It's a good policy to NEVER let a fuel tank go to the bottom for several reasons. Any collected water from condensation is lying there, also any dirt debris...things that can clog your filter, lines or injectors. Other than that fuel exhaustion fills the pump and lines with air. The pump can cavitate and not pump the fuel to the injectors which take a very high pressure. (Much more than a carborated engine). It is suggested to REFILL your tank after use to minimize water condensation from humidity. Takes a few minutes but well worth it. Good luck.

I just spent the last hour with a pair of Cummins ( 275 HP each) that had air in the fuel AKA went dry. I pumped the wall mounted primer and after several attempts they fired. This is a pair of real generators and they kick 600 V.

the ck's have a three position valve at the fuel filter. If you run out turn the valve to air then start the tractor run for about 30 seconds shut off tractor turn valve to open then restart. That should do it.
