This kit built shed has served many purposes for us over the years. It's next role is going to be half chicken coop, half goat house.

The floor is unfinished OSB. Any advice for paint or other treatment to keep it from rotting out when it gets pooped on?

And while we're at it: See that stump in the foreground? Left it there to potentially convert it to some sort of goat playstand. Anything I can do to it to keep it from rotting too quickly? Think it was poplar.

If possible I would overlay it with plywood. If Not i would paint it with as much exterior grade paint as possible to seal it. The moisture is normally what messes Osb up. When you think it is good and coated, paint it one more time. The more you kept it swept out the better. I put plywood in our chicken house when we built it and painted it like that and it has been holding up good for several years. The inside and bottom has outlasted the steps going into the nest box area.
As for the stump, I知 not sure what what to do with it. You might get luck and it try to regrow out the sides. Even if it did kill the tree completely, you should get many years out of it before it rots. Years ago horse trailer floors and utility trailer floors that the wood came from groundhog sawmills, people would put alittle diesel or burnt oil on it to help preserve it, but I知 not sure how the goats wood like it. Cows loved the fly bags that were soaked with alittle oil and fly chemicals though.

I went and bought a piece of thick linoleum and cut it so that the edges go up the walls about 6"

I make my family wear a respirator when cleaning to avoid chicken poop dust.

minwax helmsman spar urethane would work very nicely, it has modifiers that allow it to bend and stretch a bit so it don't crack. it's usually used for boat decks..

it definitely needs to be waterproofed. the goats will pee on it.

Linoleum or FRP is quick, easy and simple to clean. You can deck or otherwise paint it on the cheap and it will give you a few good years anyways.

Chainsaw the floor off and set the walls on concrete, or some blocks.

Just to add to my previous comment, if you have a floor, rodents will take over. Chickens make a mess out of their food. Mice will eat that food all night long, and multiply!!! You will still have mice without a floor, but at least you will have a fighting chance of killing them without such a safe place for them to live.
