Hi, The valve stem on my tractor tire broke and I'm hoping I can fix it without having to take off the tire. The part that broke off was inside of the part of the stem that is still attached (see image, sorry about the image quality). The remaining part has threads on the outside, so I was hoping there is a fitting I can screw onto it that will work as a valve stem. I've never done this before, though, does anyone have recommendations? If you have a link to a fitting that works for this, that would be amazing.
The tractor is a John Deere 2130 and the tire is a 15.5-38.

Can you drill out the inner core without damaging the threads? I'm thinking LH drill and get lucky by unscrewing the core piece.

There are two types of liquid fill valve stems,
this style screws on the outside of the main body, it is called a CH1

And here is a complete assembly for a tubeless tire,

And here is a glue on tube patch valve stem,

Do you think your old Deere is mounted up tubeless?

If it is tubeless,

Not sure, the threads don't seem that strong. They're 50 years old.

That might work! Thank you. I'll look into it. The threads on my valve would fit a 7/16'' female piece.

Update: I tried removing the valve stem and it seems like there is a tube in the tire. I've never seen a tube in a tire this big! It looks like the remaining valve stem is damaged to the point that I could not still use it to put on a new stem. I was thinking of just putting one of these new "emergency" valves in and punch the tube valve in. But that probably wouldn't work, right? I assume a previous owner would only put in the tube if the tire leaked.

Most of the older tires were tubed. you can get a glue on valve stem for your existing tube. If you are going to have a tire service come out to do the repair you might wish to have a stem and possibly a tube on hand for them.
The 15.5-38 isn't too bad a tire to work on yourself leaving it right on the tractor. A bead breaker and 2 or 3 good long tire spoons. A 15.5-38 tube will run you from $60 to $120, from a tire service outfit I wouldn't be surprised at $150 or more.
I use one of the manual bead breakers; many of those caution against using an impact wrench.
