I cut my one of my hydraulic hoses yesterday while plowing snow. Must of backed up on something sharp in the snow /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

I've dismounted the backhoe from my 4410 and am having difficulty in determining how to remove the hydraulic hose. It looks like I need to remove the bumper plate to access the hydraulic fitting.

Is this correct or am I missing something obvious?

Thanks in advance for the help.

mike, you are correct in that the bumper plate has to be removed. I just replaced a bucket cyc. hose on my 48. I left the BH on my 4310 when replacing hose because I had to lower the boom to loosen the hyd. hose hold down plate?? inside the boom to replace the hose. Hope this helps you out! Mike

If your hose is routed through the inside of the boom, make sure you tie a string on the old hose before you pull it out. Then, tie the string to the new hose for easier installation.

Good morning

I had to replace the hydraulic hose on the left side outrigger of my 48 BH and I had to remove the bumper plate. Other than that, it was not difficult at all. I found it easier by raising the BH with the remaining hydraulics available and then putting jack stands underneath for safety. It was a little easier with the BH off the ground a tad.

Good luck

Richard

Backhoes and Skid Steers are the worst at hose access. Some are so bad that you can only turn the fitting one flat at a time and that is when you have to turn the wrench over every flat. Like Jeff said, use a string on the old hose, then use the string to pull the new hose through. That will same you a lot of time and aggravation. Good luck with it.

It looks like the bumper plate bolts have nuts, they are not very easy to get to.

Does anyone have a technical service manual that explains how to replace this hydraulic hose? It seems very difficult to get to the end of the hose, having to take so many parts off to access these connections.
