Replacing Headlight Bulb Ford 1700

How do you get the bulb out of the headlight on a Ford 1700? the headlights are kinda fragile. The I can twist the bulb and feel it click, but it doesn't come out. Do you have to take the front chrome trim ring off from around the glass and get it out the front side? I didn't want to try too hard and break these old headlights.

It is difficult. Much of the Japan made tractors used Stan-ley headlamps and bulbs from that era. Many refer to these as the Datsun & Mitsubishi parts in tractors.

If you Ford 1700 (really it's a full blown Shibaura made) tractor has a horn, it too is a Datsun part. LOL

Ha, yeah i used a Datsun electronic voltage regulator as a replacement to the original mechanical one. Worked perfectly for 5 years in it!

On mine the bulb and lens was just one piece. I just bought one from Tractor supply and it was the exact fit. It was many years ago and it was under $10. It was not like automotive that you can just change the Halogen bulb.

if my memory serves me correctly, TSC had one size round light and I bet it matched a whole bunch of tractor and misc stuff. I don't know if they have it any more, should have bough one extra just to be safe. It looks a bit crossed eye,lol
