Has anyone attempted to replace the the friction plate in the 3 point hitch lever? If so, how difficult of a job was it, specifically the spring pin reinsertion? The parts in question are #'s 300 and 310 in the attached PDF file.

Last year I tried to tighten up the friction and found the plate had already cracked. The dealer didn't have one in stock and I was discing at the time, so I wrapped some cord around the shaft and tightened it up. The friction has been OK, maybe just a little bit loser this year. At some point though I will need to put the replacement plate back in. It's a PITA to take all of the covers and interference away to get to it. So replacing the plate will be a better long term fix. The service manager said the spring pin can be difficult to get back in.

BTW Kubota's web site has parts diagrams online now. This is where the pdf file came from. It's been awhile since I've been to the site, so this could be old news.
