Tire Selection Replacement Rear Tires for Kubota L Series

My 1983 rear Kubota 14.9x24 tires are ready for replacement and I'm looking for a set of tires that will hold up as well as the original Goodyear 6 ply tires. I thought I had heard that Goodyear was bought out by Titan and the last set of tires that I bought for another tractor were Titans and they did not hold up well at all for brush hogging. I sold them shortly thereafter and bought PrimeX steel belted log stompers and have been totally satisfied with them. I'm open to R-1 and R-4 tread design. What would you recommend?

I heard Goodyear was bought by Titan. I bought Titans for another tractor. The Titans did not hold up brush hogging. I replaced the Titans with PrimeX steel belted log stompers and have been totally satisfied with PrimeX on the other tractor.

What Kubota L tractor do you have? Kubota Ls vary from 2,700 pounds to 4,600 pounds, bare tractor.
Where are you located? ~~ New York?

What are the main tasks you do with your (unspecified) Kubota L? More brush hogging?

Well - welcome to TBN and this forum. However - please join with us and complete your profile with location and tractor type.

I guess since you are so satisfied with the PrimeX tires - get more of them. I'm familiar with Goodyear, Firestone and Titan - had exceptional success with these three brands.

The rear R-1 tires - 14.9 x 24 - Goodyear, on my first tractor were still in excellent condition when I traded it in after 27 years.

The reason for such outstanding longevity - keep the tractor & tires OUT OF THE SUN - except when using the tractor.

You are probably correct, no one could possibly have an opinion concerning tire performace while rotary cutting without knowing exactly where the poster resides? Including NY in his member name could never be sufficient. ??

I really don't believe that PrimeX makes the size that my Kubota takes, otherwise I would buy a set. I've been using my JD 2030 to do my brush hogging for years. I have used my Kubota to do brush hogging in the past, but since I bought the John Deere and "bulletproofed" it, I now use the Kubota for lighter work. After 35 years it's time for new rear tires.

Yes, I've been a member since 2002, and although I posted my info, pictures of my tractors, and even posted regularly on the forums years ago, things change in one's life and I haven't been active for years. I too had not posted much since 2000 when I joined. Rainy days and retirement will make ya do anything.
