Looks like the early model EVs are disposable. Even if the battery was available it would cost more than the car is worth.

I see. So although they may save the planet from fossil fuel engines, we are going to use more to replace the steel and plastic framework than we could ever hope to save via propulsion

So, as I understand it, federal law requires replacement parts to be available for cars for ten years. It does not require they be affordable just available. That sounds kind of like the affordable health care thing all over again.

Only emissions related parts, not anything else and toasters are emissions free (even though they produce more emissions from the making of them than an equal infernal combustion vehicle), but don't tell the greenies that, they will have an immediate meltdown.

Read that article on another forum this morning. I have a 2014 Focus. great little buggy. Gets 40 mpg on it's infernal combustion engine and it's battery is 79 bucks every day at menards.

Just another reason why I will never own or drive a 4 wheel toaster.

Buy another even more inflated in price buggy and be happy. The gal in the article looks like she would benefit from walking or riding a bicycle. A little physical exercise wouldn't hurt at all.
