I'm quite frustrated to find so little information on these devices ..other than an Owners Manual and parts list there seems to be nothing available on line about special tools or detailed service information that would normally be readily available to dealers and owners.
I have a Befco BSB 006 that has a bearing failing on the main shaft to the two blade drive arms. In order to get at the bearing the small 3 belt pulley must be removed... However their pulleys are screwed on and appear to be reverse threaded, though I can't be certain on the small one. In any event in addition to knowing which way to spin it, it would be helpful to know what special tools are needed to remove this.. I've tried building a device that will center on t:confused:he shaft and lock into the two pin locating hole in the pulley but the initial tries at spinning it with an impact didn't work.. Suggestions on removal and obtaining a service manual would be appreciated.

No, this was 3> 4 years ago, your the 1st reply! I finally reluctantly gave up my DIY project & took it to a tractor shop... appeared they struggled with it quite a bit and as I recall I ended up paying in excess of $300....mostly labor... I believe the pulleys are reverse threaded ... using the correct pinned scanner wrench with a long arm was the key ... I think the made one or had a similar tool they made work.

I was just glad to get it done, as it was of no value in pieces.... working fine after...sold it for what I had in it following year.. Unfortunately the shop is out of business so I can't get you any more info on what they did.
