Removing Kubota Hydraulic Quick Disconnect Couplers

I have a 2000 Kubota L3010 and an LA481 FEL. Several hoses are leaking. In the process of replacing them I discovered that I cannot remove a single coupler from the old hoses to the new ones. They are all stuck. I tried heating with a blow torch and broke a mini vice in the process.

Can I take these hoses to a shop and ask them to remove? Or is it just standard practice to order new couplers with hoses because they are impossible to remove?

Bob: They unscrew. Maybe you needed a bigger vice to hold them?

Grip the hose hex in a proper vice and apply your spanner to the coupler hex. Not the other way around.

Don't use heat on hydraulic components.

If you used a "blow torch" then the seals inside are probably wrecked now.

Yaa, get a proper vise. They will unscrew. But agree with KennyD. PRobably should buy new couplers now as the rubber seal inside is likely shot in the ones you applied heat to.

I used a propane torch not a blow torch (my bad). I did take them to my mechanic who put them on his industrial sized vice and using a torque wrench with a 22mm deep socket removed them in about 10 seconds. I wasted nearly half a day. Gotta have the tools.

Mechanic, who had his Kubota in his shop at the time, said the nipple looked fine to him. No damage from the heat. I put it on the tractor and cut the now 3 foot grass in my field for a few hours. I didn't see any leaks (so far).

A propane torch or any torch is easily capible of melting plastic & rubber. I'd replace the couplers rather than mess with likely melted seals.
