Kubota L345
I recently purchased a 1984 Kubota L345. It came with a rear remote operated through a single spool Energy valve. Something worn in the valve seems to be affecting the raising of the 3 Pt Hitch arms. I don't have any use for the rear remote and would like to remove the valve. Can I just remove it and plug the ports in the OP 2? I will try to attach a picture showing where the hoses connect to the OP 2.

On an open center hyd system such as your tractor one can't just plug a line/fitting because the hyd oil must flow in a series. If you just plug a line you stand a good chance of damaging hyd pump. I'm trying to envision what could be worn on your hyd remote valve to affect 3pt. . Have you changed hyd filer lately??

Thanks for replying. A mechanic visiting from out-of-state said something was worn inside the valve that was not allowing it to remain in neutral. He was able to get it functioning properly by working it back and forth. For a while, I could work the valve back and forth and eventually the lift arms would work fine. They would quit in the down position after the tractor had been out of use for a couple of days. I removed the valve and replaced the o rings. I am assuming the valve works on "float", because there was no detent spring. This is the first valve I have ever taken apart, so really didn't know what to look for. Since I reinstalled the valve, I have not been able to get the lift arms to raise. I have cleaned the filter. Is it possible the hydraulic pump has lost prime? The two lines from the picture are the only points of connection from the tractor to the valve. Two lines went from the valve to the rear of the tractor where I was told that had been used for a hay rake.

Have you changed the hyd filter since you purchased the tractor? I think the 3pt not raising problem is somewhere besides the rear remote valve.

The filter looked pretty good after I cleaned it. I didn't mention that I could raise the lift arms manually with ease. The lift lever lifts with no tension at all, but these two things were also ocurring before my friend got them working properly before by working the valve lever.

My L355 1983 Kubota has that block and it is unused. A hydraulic hose connects the two fittings together.

Are you referring to the two ports shown in the picture, and if so, I can just connect them with a single hose? That would be great! Someone looked at it today and said that something could have been modified in the OP when the rear remote was added. What do you think? It seems like connecting the two with a hose would basically eliminate the fluid going through the valve. If the valve was functioning properly isn't that what would happen anyway? As you can tell, I know very little about how hydraulics work. I really appreciate your input.

Connecting the 2 ports with one hose was what I was thinking but I'm still not understanding how the remote valve can keep 3 pt from operating as oil goes through it when handle is in neutral. FYI the 3 pt draft arms have no down pressure so they can be raised by hand with or without the engine running.

I connected the two ports with one hose, loosened the connections slightly and first got air bubbles, then got sprayed with hydraulic fluid. Best shower I've had in a while. Hydraulics are working again. I guess the control valve would not go into neutral. I am very grateful for your help. Thanks!!!!
