TYM T293
I am an extremely green newbie regarding hydraulics. I have a TYM T293 with a pair of rear remotes. if I want to extend them to the front for grapple use, am I correct is assuming I need the following?

1) Hoses long enough (with appropriate slack for full FEL operation) to go from the rear to the FEL.
2) Quick connects to attach to the rear remotes and hoses
3) Some type of mounting plate attached to the FEL to which the hoses will connect to
4) Bulkhead fittings to mount the hoses to the plate
5) Quick connects to attach to the bulkhead fittings

Is this correct? What about bleeding? Do I need to do anything special since the new lines will be dry?

Thanks for any advice.

Tom, you might want to think about having a set of QDs where your loader comes off of the tractor. To be able to split the lines so to speak. That way when & if you ever take the loader off, you won't need to reroute the hydraulic lines each time. As far as bleeding, no big deal, just fully cycle the hydraulic 10-20 times once everything is all connected together and you should be set.

Brian,

I had not thought of that but it's a great idea too. Thanks.

You can use the remotes for the grapple.

You can add a 3ed function. No feather with 3ed function.

You can use a diverter valve, and switch the curl cyl hyd to the grapple.

The speed of the grapple using the 3ed function will be determined by the GPM of the tractor pump.

You could also use a needle valve to adjust the speed of grapple operation.or change the rpm of the tractor..

Since you have a rear remote to use I would not bother with a diverter valve.

100_2277.jpg100_2276.jpg102_1450.jpgTom, I ran two lines from my rear remotes to the front of the tractor to run my FEL snowplow. I ran the hoses from the rear remotes under the tractor and came up the left side of the loader arms as I had more room on the left side. I added the disconnects here (as MtnViewRanch stated) so that when I take the loader off the tractor I just unplug the lines at the mid section of the tractor. Here are a few pictures showing how I did mine. The second picture shows the two silver disconnects that come from the front of the loader (pic #3). The first picture is the disconnect at the loader arms. Hope this helps. It's not as nice as a joystick controlled switch but it was easy to have made up and works very well for me. Good luck to you.

I recommend flat face couplers, they are what skid steers have. You loose very little fluid when you disconnect them, and most of the equipment you probably will be using on the fel is designed for a skid steer and has flat face couplers on them already. You will also be able to go to a rental company and rent SS equipment for you tractor. If you want to make a nice job out of it I would run steel lines up the loader for a factory look.
