Remote Hydraulics Yanmar 336

I figured I would share this information for those looking to add remote hydraulics (i.e woodsplitter) to the Yanmar 336 (US Made Market-Not an import-grey market tractor) WITHOUT cutting the high pressure hydraulic lines or adding a fitting to the pump (front right of tractor)

If you would like remote hydraulics using your tractors hydraulic divider block then read on. And yes, you will still have use of your 3pt system BUT not at the same time you're using your auxillary valve (log splitter, etc.)

First, see the attached pages from the 336 service manual.

Second, you will need the following plug (for info on the plug read the comments in the discussion link posted above):

HK 1/4-18 NPTF Socket Pipe Plug 7/8 Taper Flush Seal

Fastenal sku number is 81143. HK 1/4-18 NPTF Socket Pipe Plug 7/8 Taper Flush Seal | Fastenal

(For the time being I have two extra plugs.)

I will post the other sizes for "D" "E" in the image (divider block) as I find them out.

NOTE: You will need and Open-Center auxillary valve!

I'm trying to figure out remotes for my fx28D right now. I have read a lot of info but just not able to figure it all out yet.

I have an F215 to which I have just added remotes - so your's may be similar.
Underneath the RH footplate there are two blanked off pipes - the one nearest the front is the out pipe & the one to the rear of this is the return.
Lift the seat and underneath is a wing nut which on mine was in the rearmost position - to activate the remote hydraulics undo and move to the forward position.
WARNING this puts the remotes in series with the 3 point so hydraulic oil must be able to flow ie pipework and valve must be connected and open.

Well, I took the cheapest way out and cut into the high pressure line like many of the folks on here. I, however, did figure out the divider block issue and will make a post on how that is done and what parts are needed. Attached is the set-up I'm going to run. It allows me to expand in the future and to run another valve for a hydrualic top link if needed. All the parts and sizes are listed. Enjoy!

Just wanted to point out that the 3ph should not be used with this setup with an open center valve. The tank/return port of an open center valve is not rated for the pressures that would be generated while using the 3ph. In the case of the wood splitter this probably not a problem, but if adding a remote for other fuctions where the 3ph will be used, a power beyond valve should be used. Fuctionally they are the same, but a power beyond is rated for passing the pressure along to the next valve (3ph) rather than just to tank. Often times an open center valve can be convertered to power beyond with an inexpensive adapter that is added to the tank port.

I am curious about whether you have PB ports already on that tractor under the seat on the 3pt control block? Mine has them its got a hose in place now if I wanted to could just take hose off and put remotes on w/o cutting into main lines.

I have not ever used them so cant speak as to how they would interfere etc with the normal 3pt operation but then I am not planning on using tractor hydraulics either like you are thats why I am mentioning it also I included a pic I can only assume yours has it also? hth

I am in the design phases of a 3pt splitter myself and have a similar tractor and I decided to use a pto pump rather than the PB on the tractor mainly because I am contemplating using a 5" cyl x 26" ram with 4 way.

My other reasoning for a pto pump vs is the tractor pump is rated at 1500 psi and 6.9-8.2 gpm @ 2600. I didn't feel that was enough for my needs at least so I am very curious how yours turns out keep up posted please!

I have those ports to speak of but not that hose or fittings. I really considered the hydr pump myself but that would require me to get a reservior too. I may still add that option in the future just so I can "share" the splitter without the risk of contaminating my system.

That plug that goes in the block is an interesting point I am glad I read that part in case I ever decided to use mine for a hyd top link etc good info thanks!
