Remote control Light

Not sure if this is the best place for this. I am looking for an inexpensive (frugal?) remote light to put on the tractor. Something like this. My CFO can press a button (like a doorbell type) in the house and a small light can come on on the tractor and I will then know that my services are required indoors. Due to noise, a radio or something sound based probably wouldn't work. Any ideas? Obviously it cannot be AC powered.

Ok here's another way to look at it. I press a button on the tractor and a light goes on in the house and a fresh barley pop is delivered. (We wish!)

Why don't you get a pager with a vibrating option?

Then you could be reached anywhere and at anytime.

X10 www.x10.com has a number of wireless devices. I am sure you could adapt to your needs. There are some FRS radio's with vibrate call this would work.

Yeah.. frs or a pager sounds like the best way to go.. Unless you want to get real elaborate.

The radio idea is good.. you can get up to a couple miles range with some models... Nice as a safety issue to.. Get stuck way back in the pasture and the wife unit can call neighbor 'x' to come help you, etc. ( and then bring out the drinks... )

Tell your wife it is JUST FAR TOO HARD to do and you'll get some piece and quiet (except for that lovely tractor tune) for a while !!!

the frs raidos are great. radio shack used to sell a pair for under fifity bucks. Works great around the farm and at horse shows!!

Either tell her its not technically possible, or tell her you need a new 100HP cab tractor with heat and air so that you will be able to hear her over a radio/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Probably time travel, although I havn't figured out how to go back and make me smarter at a younger age yet. When I find the answer I'll be sure to post it /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. I'm not sure, but where Neil is at it's either sometime tomorrow or a week from last Wednesday /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif. Them 24 time zones sure can be confusing!!
