Ok, let me see if I can explain this, I have two seperate questions in this.

1) I have an Ex3200 with what I found out has the power beyond package installed which ends up with two ports in the back (pressure and return and they have to always be connected). The previous owner ran hoses from this (which is just a supply and return) to a single spool valve with a detent on one side (think log splitter valve) which operates a grapple on the bucket. When I try to raise my 3 point the lever for the grapple moves and the 3pt wont lift. If I hold the grapple lever steady the 3 point will raise just fine. Am I correct in assuming the detent in the grapple valve is causing this issue? My only way to use my 3pt is to tie the grapple lever in place. Also when trying to lift the 3pt the grapple will open or close depending on how I hook up the hoses, also once the grapple opens or closes completely only then with the 3pt have the pressure to operate. I'm assuming the power beyond is installed correctly as it looks to be factory installed.

2) If the issue above is possibly the valve being used in the incorrect fashion, is it possible to get a two spool valve and run a hydraulic top link for my 3pt in the same fashion? Cub makes a remote kit but it only has one valve, and if I have to replace the above valve I may as well get a twin spool and kill two birds with one stone.

It sounds like the previous owner installed a log splitter valve to run the grapple.

If you have an open center hyd system, and all valves are in neutral, the fluid should flow in a series path through all valves. and the valve levers should not move.

If you are using a log splitter valve as a grapple valve, the extend/close part of the grapple will operate normal, and the retract will open the grapple and move the lever to the neutral position if you go into detent.

If your tractor is set up with the PB and return at the back, the path should be something like this.

Pump to loader, PB from loader goes to the back as pressure line. Another line at the back is the return line for a valve, or if no attachment is being used, the two hoses are connected together, and then the return hose from the back will go to the 3pt.

You can use the log splitter valve with your grapple, but do not go into detent return.

You can check things out by removing the grapple valve and connect the pressure and return lines together.

Your 3pt valve should now work normal.

Yes, you can replace the log splitter valve and install a two spool valve for TNT, or whatever.

It is an open center system.

I agree the levers/ valves should not move. My assumption is that when the 3pt is used the pressure rises upstream and engages the detent pilot and makes the lever move causing all my issues. With the grapple lever moving the pressure drops ahead of the 3pt and the 3pt does nothing untill pressure climbs again, which seem to happen whent he grapple opens or closes fully (again depends on the way I have my hoses I can cross them make the detent kick off on open or close.

It sounds like the oil path you have is correct for me, if there were no auxilary valve in use the two ports on the back NEED to be connected with a hose, I see that in dealer photos. I guess I could eliminate the valve and see what happens.

Puckgrinder. I read this over and over and the only thing that I can come up with is that the "Log splitter" valve doesnt have a power beyond port in it and that the valve is plumbed in between the loader and the 3 point. Pick up a 2 spool valve (can have one spool with float) that has a power beyond and replace the log splitter valve with that. The power beyond port will then go to the 3PH and life will be good.

I think i'll put a two spool PB valve where this log splitter valve is and then convert my top link to a hydraulic one right away. I just wish I had a friggin place to mount it all.

I think you'll be happier with an actual valve/cylinder, that's the way I'm going with mine.

As to mounting, can you post a pic of your tractor showing the loader valve, "passenger side" fender, seat and ROPS ? Two pics from different angles would be even better. I have a possible idea for you, but need to get a better idea of how things are situated... Steve

Thanks for the pic, JJ - that would also be my choice. If the fender is too wimpy, you could always add a backing plate UNDER the fender and bolt thru, sandwiching the fender between plate and valve assembly.

This puts all controls in a decent cluster, leaving only hose routing to figure out... Steve
