NEW Kubota, BX2200D-60 ser # 61438, with front end loader LA211FL, serial #18238, now wearing a very nice coat of John Deer GREEN paint has been recovered.
It seems one of Hilton's local pisspots stold the tractor, and drove it home, a distance of about 3 miles, at night, without being spotted. Well, the not being spotted part is beleivable, given the quality of the Monroe County Sheriff's Department.
As the story goes, tha lad's father helped his darling son prepare and paint said orange tractor John Deer Green, in the family garage. Actually, it's quite a good paint job.
The Sheriff's "investigators" were finally unable to ignore a dozen of the lad's schoolmates informing them of comments said delinquent had made in school. "Investigators" finally, well there was an election, were able to complete the difficult task of locating said delinquent's home address, and went to the pisspot's house, where they found a new GREEN tractor.
Amazingly, "Investigators" determined said GREEN tractor wasn't a John Deer, and impounded said tractor.
No comments will be made regarding this case in the near future. There seems to be a theory of the crime that goes along the lines that the culprits intended to use the tractor, and felt nobody would notice a new GREEN John Deer.
It's nice to see a father and his son cooperating on a tractor project.

Franz,

Good for you on the recovery of the now green Kubota. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif. But it's better than a kick in the teeth I guess /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. Now that it's got the green paint on her and all that the poor things been through what do you get for her in money? Just curious!

oh...and pictures please when you get a chance...that would be a sight to see...a green Kubota.

Seriously though, sounds like pretty good news overall. Maybe insurance will pay for a new paint job?

It will be nicer when they spend the next 10 or 15 years together behind bars... /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif {of course they won't /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif}

Glad they got it back. I remember about a decade ago, a local government body bought several Kubota tractors and then paid several thousand dollars to have them painted green so that no one would no they bought non American tractors.

Now there some good government thinking...first buy an imported tractor and then have the gall to waste more taxpayer money by painting it green/w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

Franz,

Very glad to hear that it was recovered.

Sound's like the a combination of the Keystone cops and the Sherriff from "Smokey and the Bandit" were on your side! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

No matter what color they painted it, they can't take the quailty out of it!

Hmmm, I don't know anything about the quality of law enforcement in that area, but it's interesting to notice that they found the stolen tractor, recovered it, and got the culprits, but the cops are no good, right?/w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif Can't help but wonder what they did wrong; other than fail to prevent it from being stolen in the first place.

Bird,

You are correct. However, based upon Franz' explanation, it seems as though they fell upon the solution rather than following through with the clues being provided. Or maybe something was lost in the storytelling.

A statement like that is such a great straight line for those of us that don't own orange! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif But I'll be good. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Bravo Bravo!

Now it will blend in out in the bushes so it can't be seen (stolen) again! And if anybody bugs you about it you can say that JD has given up on their current units and have decided to buy from Kubota /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Hey, that's nothing, at least there might be some benefit in adding more paint (probably not much)

In my state (Washington) the highway department, where they made a cut through a hillside, actually PAINTED the rocks so they would look "old" and "natural". A little bit of flack over that. It's easy to get away with being STUPID when it isn't your money and you have an endless supply.

Last Tuesday we passed a 1% max cap (+inflation I think) on property taxes. Before that it was 6%!

Previous year we made all car licensing about $30 (which I actually think is to little). Previously based on value, a new Chev truck could be $500+

All kinds of doom and gloomers saying we were destroying ourselves, somehow we are still here. Of course every possible problem was blamed on the vehicle tax cut. Now everything will be blamed on the property tax cut. We still have the option of voting on any increases or bonds for schools, fire protection etc.

The county hires a company to do tree cutting on road right of ways, the power company hires them to limb trees. Yesterday I left at 11am, the guys were sitting in their trucks, went for a walk at 1pm, they were still sitting or lying in their trucks. One of those huge trailer towed grinders, boom truck. I could have done the hole friggin street by myself in that time.

Previous year county brought out a brand new Cat 312 excavator, dump truck, about 4-6 guys on our dead end road with no traffic. Set up signs etc, dorked around all day cleaning out a 100 foot ditch. I would love to have been paid all that money to do it with my Kubota!

Have you noticed all the internet news on people being laid off? Every hear that a city county state is laying off people. Not hardly.

That's the nice thing about having a good union I guess, you can't be fired no matter what a lazy piece of _ _ _ _ you are.

Well; all done griping...

It's SUNNY IN SEATTLE! Where are my tractor keys?

As part of the punishment, I think the judge should demand these two crooks to sit down and absolutely listen to all the members of TBN on the attributes of orange vs green...

Then again... that may be consider cruel and unusual punishment.../w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif

Brid,

Spoken like a true "blue". You would have to know more than we know here to see it much different than you state. Maybe Harv could swap your eagle for a Blue Bird, I did like the old Crow also (not the booze the bird)

I'm REAL glad to hear that you got your tractor back. It's kinda sad to hear that it has been stripped of its color and replaced with a different one. But, did they at least get it the "right" shade of green? It's one thing to paint it green, but it's another to get it the wrong shade./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif Pressing charges? You could always put a Viper alarm system on it now. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

P.S.
Bird, I like your signature. It looks cool. /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif
