I've decided, the factory swivel, lift, reversible seat in the L35 is the biggest piece of maladusted misdesigned you know what I have ever seen.
Seems easy but after you operate it for a day you'll wish you had a new set of elbows from pushing it down with your arm extended to "unlatch" it, and leaning over the filthy tire to release the swivel when it's pointed backwards, and climbing up the hoe legs because they were too dumb to make a simple platform to step on to get over the gd thing.
I'm seriously considering taking my extra MOTORHOME captains chair and getting it recovered in some nasty heavy vinyl and mounting it! Just turn it around in place, make a platform to step on and go! Of course since the distance may be wrong with out moving it forward and back I may have to attach some 4x4 blocks to the bottom of my shoes to reach the pedals! Wish I was that 6'4 fellow that found his BX pedal uncomfortable!
My Ford has two seats, both lift up, you tilt one up and it locks "up", put the other one down, climb over, stepping on some nice flat spots, and the top of one of the three point links and you're home. Never have to get off the tractor if you don't want.
Having the hoe close in is great for rough ground travel, but the seating positions aren't quite close enough to just pivot in the seat and go. The 48, being a bigger carcass, was able to deal with this.
But this goofy L35 setup...pet peeve #2.
There, I can rest, I've blabbed all my negativity out.
AND ON THE POSITIVE SIDE...wow pushed a couple of big trees over today that my Ford would not have handled. Combination of push and loader lift.
