Currently have Kubota L4600HST, Kubota M7040, Kubota M8540, two Massey 265's, Massey 230, ...... Had Long 510, Mahindra 3510.Ford 4000, Deere 4230.
Going to be keeping these implements for a long time and want to get some good ones from the start.

Tractor is a Kubota L4600 with 38 pto Hp so 5 or 6 ft implements will be needed.

Need a good HD disk, and a rotary cutter.

These will be used at my hunting lease not farmland... Lots of brush and backfilled rocky reclaimed land

Most of the new disk I have looked at are very lightly made. I have considered finding a older heavy built disk and just rebuilding it

Bush hog first comes to mind on the rotary cutter but Im open to suggestions for it and the disk.

For the mower look at Woods.

For the disc... I would buy used... Maybe a Deere or Dearborn.

I have a 6' Land Pride rotary(#1872) & I could not be happier with it! I bought it used for $900 but when checking to see what they should sell I "think" I found them new for $2200-2500. Even at that price I would be happy with its performance. LP rates it as a "light duty" mower but at a spec'd 737 lbs I feel it is more of a medium duty unit. I turn it at 1000 rpm(not recomended) & have had no issues coming up to 3 yrs. I'm the third owner by the way.

I'm 37 yrs old(how can that be?) but happy to still be here & had always known rotary mowers as "bush or brush hogs". Of course there are a bunch of quality brands & models out there but wanted to give my thoughts on this particular mower. Good Luck

Can't beat BushHog brand HD cutter in my opinion. Don't think I could break mine if I tried.

Yeah, so far of all the ones ive looked at in person bush hog is by far the heaviest built. The heavy duty 295 5 ft'r is what id like to get but it shows them needing 40 Hp... it doesnt say if thats tractor HP or PTO hp. Im trying to find that out now...
if its PTO hp i will have to drop to the bush hog med duty 6 ft'r as mine is only 36 pto HP.

I use my 4ft bushhog behind my kubota b2710, 23hp at the PTO, and does well through thick stuff.

I have a 6' BushHog that's been used commercially for a few years. A lot of the properties have been overgrown nightmares, so its been through the ringer and back more than once. The deck is battered and bruised, the skids have had to be welded and rebuilt several times, the stump jumper has been hammered back into shape and its been through four sets of blades. I've torn off the tail wheel three times, and that's my least favorite part of the unit. I haven't looked at a lot of other brands in person, but I like the tail wheel retaining assembly on the Land Pride a lot better than mine. Replaceable skids are a nice feature too.

well, locally ive found $2600 for a BH 295, or a dealer with a leftover BH RD6 for $1100 .... 3" cut capacity vs 1" but thats a heck of a price difference.

Yeah, but the RD is the economy model. I'd check Land Pride prices at your Kubota dealer and also the Woods models.

We have gotten really good use out of Land Pride and Woods with heavy use, Bush Hog also has a really good reputation, but I have never owned one. I am sure there are other good brands, I just have no personal experience with them.
