I was a bit surprised to see that the 2007 4520 I put a deposit on did not have either. Perhaps it is because it is from the Southern states. I imagine I should get a wiper installed fror snow?

I don't recall seeing a defroster option. Current owner pointed out he's never had a problem with it with the heater system design.

Any thoughts on how much work it might be to put a wiper in?

Hiya,

Rear wipers/washers are optional on the Deere 20 series CUTs. I think it about $275 for the kit if I remember correctly.

I haven't had any bad comments about the heat/AC in the Deere cabs, you should be good.

That is optional on the JD compacts.

I have the kit but haven't taken the time to put it on yet.:ashamed: Maybe later this fall. I did look at it and it is a simple task to install it.

Good to hear. Thanks. I'll get the dealer to put it on while it is in there to get the diverter kit put on for the two extra outlets in the rear.

If you install the wiper kit now... you'll scare the last 2 rain clouds in NM right into AZ!! :D

Yeah this is one case where I would rather need it and not have it. Last month I finally had a chance to try out the front wipers.

Rear wipers and washers are options on any cabbed tractor I've looked at regardless of brand, and the same goes for aftermarket cabs. Personally I would have one since keeping an eye on any implements being used is just part of tractor operation.

They are standard on the MF 1600 series cabbed tractors. Did some looking at all cabbed brands before we bought ours.

I've generally found that a number of things that are standard on many are options on JD.

Effectively raises the price of an equally equipped JD to other models but their prices are only as high as the market will bear :). They command a premium price because it is an incredibly well trusted brand.

I was happy to see that my machine had the telescopic side links :) Which are also an option on the new machines. Just wish the original owner had paid to put in a rear wiper and two more remotes in the back so I wouldn't be paying for it :)
