Rear tire pressures

Any one know off hand what pressure I should put in the rears of my Ford 1200 compact tractor?

they should be 800 x 16 but we have fitted 750 x 16 tires as they look better and are a higher profile.(and cheaper lol)

Brother Edd put 16psi in them but I think that may be a little high.

most rear tractor tires I run 12 in.. but.. look at the tire profile.. you can see when it is correct. IMHO.. if 16 looks ok.. I wouldn't be afraid of it. might be a harder ride.. all up to you..

Feels a bit lumpy on the concrete, cant find any data on pressures so I guess we'll let some out and see.

I usually start with what is on the side of the tire and adjust from there but not much difference.

Maybe when we build up the backhoe and get the rams and dipper back on it will be ok.

Most rear tires are in the range of 10-12 psi, but put your heaviest load on the tractor, then drive it onto a flat conrete or paved surface. Deflate or inflate until full width of tread (ie; shoulder to shoulder) is touching the surface. This will give you the maximum contact patch for maximum traction and the most comfortable ride. This is same for R1,R2,R3,R4's.
Front tires are different because most are under much more load and require more pressure to keep bead from rolling off rim when turning and carrying a full load on the loader. Quite often 30-40 psi.
Always consult your owners manual for proper inflation pressure for your tractor/tire combination.
