Kioti DK 40 HST
I am posting here instead of hydraulic sub forum as there may be issues specific to Kioti.

I just ordered a DK40 HST. Getting a second rear remote. So that gives me 2 rear remotes. On my CK25 my biggest issue was screwing the toplink to adjust box blade etc. A real PITA ! I have been in touch with Brian at Fit Rite Hydraulics and will be getting his top link cylinder. I am not interested in the tilt as i find that function pretty easy to adjust compared to top link.

Anyway: the second rear remote would be for my eventual purchase of a grapple. Here is where i am lost: I have done searches and see reference to detent vs non-detent. Not sure which way to go. I understand the detent keeps valve open, correct? So the line is always pressurized. Applicable if you are off the tractor and operating a log splitter (picked this up during search).

Now for a grapple detent or non detent.? Dealer did not ask me if I wanted the 2nd rear to be detent or non detent.

To add to my confusion: suppose down the road I want to add the tilt feature and install cylinder. Can I hook hydraulic lines from second rear remote to tilt for box blade work and than disconnect lines and hook to grapple for trash removal ? Or do i need a 3rd rear remote dedicated to tilt?

Also wondering when I get the DK40 will there now be 2 levers , one for each rear remote or do i need to build/buy levers/ I ask because during my search i see where a member fashioned a handle. Link is below: reading this only added to my confusion about detent issue

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kioti-buying-pricing/288874-kioti-hydraulics-what-do-i.html

Im really lost here. Should i ask dealer for a joystick type setup for when i do get grapple or just use separate levers for bucket and grapple?

Lastly Kioti offers an option called Hydraulic valve kit-single to double conversion. it is part # 322014. Is this in place of a second rear remote.

Sorry for the long winded post. i just want to do this right the first time.

Thanks for your help.

There will be 2 levers (1 for each set of remotes) on right hand side of the seat. Is better if you don't have detent unless it was "float detent" for the top link. Yes, you could unhook one set of remote couplers in the rear and hook up a set for grapple. The second will very likely not have detent, the original 1 on the tractor now probably does have it but the detent assembly can be taken out and saved to reinstall if you need it later for backhoe or log splitter, etc.

Currently I run my top link with the detent valve, only because I haven't taken the time to remove the detent. It works OK, just be careful to not push lever to far. Hydraulics will flow through the valve before it goes into detent, be the same as feather a non-detent spool.

I have all of what you are asking about: first rear remote from factory is detented. Second dealer installed is not. I use Brian's Top-N-Tilt with his diverter valve and run the third set of remotes up to the front crossover of the loader and have a joystick mounted momentary button which opens or closes the grapple, or moves my snowplow left or right. The whole setup works well. Brian is the go to guy for this.
On the rear I use the TNT for my boxblade or my winch. And I have a Kioti KB-2485 backhoe too!
It's great being me.:laughing::confused3:

..and if you leave a valve in detent by accident, you injector pump will overheat and could be damaged permanently. For me removing the detent ball kept me from accidentally hitting it(again) while doing loader work. When I use my 3 point splitter, I hook a bungee cord on the lever to keep it "in detent"...works perfectly.

Did you mean to say, hydraulic pump?

Yep.I use two Zip ties which do the same job.

I find my detent valve easy to use and I dont put it in detent by accident, how ? it sit so low, how could I hit it doing something else than using it? when I use it, I can put it in detent if im not carefull but I just move it the other direction and that's it. to each his own.

for the OP, if you didnt got it, the Detent work like the Float on the FEL joystick, you can move the handle either way but if you need it ON all the time in either direction, just push further and it will lock in place, to get it out, just move it in other direction just like you would do with the FEL joystick while in float.

if you plan to use a grapple or another FEL attachment, you could hook an hydraulic hose on your rear valve, and run it under your tractor to the grapple/attachment, then you could use the grapple with your rear handle (detent one or the other one), that is a cheap way to do it and need you to move your hand from the FEL joystick to the rear remote handle each time you want to close/open the grapple, but work #1 with only the cost of the hose/fitting.

another way to do this is buying a Diverter valve and installing it right after your FEL valve, a button need to be installed on your FEL joystick to activate that new valve. When you let the button alone (OFF), the FEL work normally but when you hold the button down (ON), your FEL joystick left/right or up/down (you choose) could open/close the grapple, then stop holding the button and your FEL work normally again curl/dump.

hope that cleared things up, if you had already understood, im sorry to double post the information.

I wish I knew how, and it happened twice before I de-balled mine. The first and worst was while cleaning up and salvaging a whole trailer load of oak knocked down by a tornado. I was on and off the tractor a zillion times, chainsawing, hooking up chains, etc. I was running around 2300 rpm & had earplugs in..this was grubbing to get to the trees which were down helter skelter. After about 2 hours, & in the middle of moving the tractor, it just stopped, fel stopped, but the engine was still running. I went to idle, took out the earplugs, got out and looked at the hydro connections thinking a hose got knocked loose. They were all fine, but they were hot and I could now hear a whine. I discovered the the rear remote lever in "detent"....all hoses were hot, real hot. After taking it out of detent and letting it idle for a while everything cooled off and I was lucky I did not burn the pump slap up.
