Hi Guys,
Just looking for some advice on replacing a rear axle seal on a Massey Ferguson 35X, Oil would appear to be leaking into the brake drum on the rear LHS. Very noticeable now with oil on the tyre when tractor has been idle for a few days and breaks totally gone on that side. If anybody out there has tackled this job in the past what advice could you give me, apparently just replacing the inner seal can in some case be adequate to fix the problem. This is my line of attack if it fails then I'll have to replace both seals. There is some mention of shims and checking axle end float which worries me a little. Can I just remove the wheel and hub draw the axle; replace seal and put all back as I found.
