jinma 2425/ Farm pro 4x4 25hp
i recently bought a 2003 farm pro 2524. the hydraulics lifted slow, leaks on the fel control, and fel lift cylinders. i fixed the leaks, the fel works better. The rear lift does not. It lift slowly when just warmed up and high rpm's. After grading for 5-10 mins it will barley lift..then not at all. I thought the leaks and lower fluid level was causing, but the leaks are fixed. I have read for hours on here and have heard some good replies. The subjects were different. Any help is much appreciated. It has a zl20 fel, and a 5 ft gannon on back, yanmar 25 hp 4x4.

Rear lift seals are probably worn out.

Thx Double J,

Ive read a few articles about the job,one guy says the piston will pull out to work on another say it wont. also what do you suggest I flush the system with, diesel or kerosene or? Also I don't, see a hyd filter so do you think it just ha a screen? Also while Im dirty should I change the quick connects, and add an in line filter?
Thanks again

There should be a filter somewhere. Either a screen type filter in the sump or a paper /can filter.

Either one of the fluids you mentioned. Might even add some alcohol to help get any water out.

The lift on my MF 253 got real jumpy when going up a few weeks ago. I drained the tranny/lift hydraulics. I washed the whole thing out with 3 gal of diesel fuel by idling around the yard for about five minutes. I installed a new internal transmission filter and new fluid. Now it all works smoothly and correctly.

Now my old long is getting the jumps and is slowing down when lifting but fortunately it has a big external filter.

Your rubber shift lever boots may be leaking water into the fluid. I had water in the MF due to age cracks on these boots.

Good luck. Ken

I recieved the seals to rebuild the rear lift cyl on my Jimna. Ive drained the fluid out so I could see in there. Lots of crap and the filter has no screen on it. I see where the lift arms are attached, the pins and stuff connecting to the piston. I am going to take the filter out from the top and replace it as well. Im not sure now exactly how to proceed. What do I take off near the shifters to gain access from the front. or do I? Can I pull the cyl out the back? Do I have to take the bigger cover that has the shifters on it. I want to work on it in the morning so any help , as always , will bee much appreciated. Gary

Gary, my filter is accessed by removing a plate on the bottom of the transmission case. The plate on mine is about even with the gear shifts but underneath the tractor. Three bolts and the plate dropped off and I put my hand in there and removed the filter.

If what you are looking at isn't straight forward and simple I'm certain that you need to have a repair manual to take it apart. If I'm not 100 percent certain about removing or taking something apart I get a manual because these things can get real expensive quickly if you don't do it the correct way.

I wish I could be more help but without seeing exactly what you have I'd just be guessing. Ken
