Real time gps tracker I need info

My daughter needs to keep track of where her car is always,so I suggested a gps tracker.
I went on ebay looking for one but they all claim to be the best.
Does anyone have any experience with these things, and the fees involved?
I dont want to waste my hard earned $$

Is this going to be used as an anti-theft device or as a way to track an employee or child or someone driving her vehicle?

Lojack makes a good anti-theft device, the cops know the company and are used to working with them.

As to a GPS tracker, it'll depend on whether you're just tracking it locally or all over the states, won't it?
