Reading Old Farming Textbooks

Colvin Cullen Bowsfield, in Making the Farm Pay, says, "No one ever questioned the high value of bordeaux as a fungicide." Well, maybe, but at $15 per bottle, I'd rather serve it with roast beef and mashed potatoes.

Wikipedia seems to know what Mr. Bowsfield is talking about, but still...
