Hello all,

Just got my new tractor (BX2370) in today. First time tractor owner, so I've been reading over the manual. I have the 60" belly mower and I'm finding the directions on the anti-scalp wheels in the manual to be useless. It says to adjust the scalp wheels based on your mower preference; however, I can't seem to get the pins holding the wheels in place out in order to raise/lower the wheels.

Is there some sort of trick that I don't know and wasn't mentioned in the manual?

Thanks!

Kyle

When i got my bx, the mower deck had seen a lot of abuse and the wheels hadn't been adjusted in some time. Took some pb blaster and a BFH to get them loose. Then used some Emery cloth to clean them up. Some lube and good to go.

I have that MMM on a BX2370. I am not home right now but It seems there are pins with a ring on the end you pull out to move the antiscalp wheels.

Remove the retainer rings, push the pin out and raise or lower the wheel to desired height...pretty simple. are you saying your pins are stuck in place?

Not sure what your question is, but just to be clear, it is not intended that the wheels should be rolling on the ground. Adjust the mower height to your preference using the hydraulic lift control on the right fender and the dial between your legs, and then set the wheels 1/4" to 1/2" above the ground.

The pins holding in the anti scalp rollers on the MMM will be a little tough at first and after you start to mow a couple of times, the pins that are holding in the roller will loosen up enough for you to adjust them. Don't try to mow without the rollers because if you go over uneven ground the deck will scalp your lawn. I know that from experience but it wont do to much damage to your lawn.

Thanks everyone. Yeah, the pins are stuck currently and won't come out. I didn't want to try to force them out if there was something else I needed to do in order to release them and couldn't find any guides on Youtube.

I'll try mowing a bit at a higher height than I was originally planning and see if that will loosen them to where I can remove them.

I don't think mowing a little higher will help loosen the pins. Shoot some penetrating oil on them and then use a block of wood and drive them out. The wood is to keep from mushrooming the end of the pin. I think once you get them broke loose they will come right out.

Scampy,

Sorry for resurrecting a thread that is a couple of years old but I am having the same issues you have described and thought it would be best to post here. Have you been able to fix this issue?

In my 60" MMM, 3 of the 4 pins are completely stuck. Tried using wood after I "mushroomed" the first one; no luck. Tried using heat to almost glowing red; still no luck. We think the vertical shafts may have bent inside the bushing causing the pins to warp. Bottom line, it hasn't and does seem like it will budge. Almost to the point of just cutting off the entire assembly and bracket and having new ones welded back but I am not sure if the entire assembly with bracket is available.

Edited: If any significance, forgot to mention this is a BX2200 early 2000's model 1300 hrs. A family heirloom that was used well but taken care of.
