Kubota BX1850
Is anyone out there with the RCK48 deck on their 1850?

I am looking for gator, or anything better than OEM, blades for this and have not had too much success. Any feedback (or part numbers) from those who have been down this road would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Most Kubota decks do a great job compared to many that are offered. The demand for something better is small as they do mow well. You might check on alternative lifts on blades from Kubota.

Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately this particular deck's performance is fair at best on my northeast Ohio bluegrass/rye/fescue blend lawn. According to my local dealer, the higher lift blades are already installed as original equipment on the deck. So, I still look for a solution.

I bought a bx1850 with a 48" deck in may. The the deck does not work, lawn looks like you mowed it with a weed eater when finished. Dealer tried to fix it twice nothing worked. They decided i need a 54" deck not real happy about that but if it works I guess I will live with it. I love the tractor perfect size for me not much land. Good luck with yours please keep me updated still waiting for my 54" deck

Don't give up on that deck yet! I just took delivery of a RCK48GR, S/N 2237-13719 to replace the 54 inch model shipped with this tractor. The center ID is the same as the K 337 LRZ3322 but use this blade part number K5182-97520 on that thick Ohio Bluegrass ( I grew up in Southeastern Ohio near the Bob Evans Farms ) The new high lift blade won't pull it up any better guy and this old blade used standard on the old TG1860s will get it done. Keep the right front tire outside the grass line. These blades are really cheap now ( I buy mine from Blount wholesale because I'm a Gardner Dealer). It's like Art says Kubota does engineer good decks ( I have thousands of hours on mine ). The secret is the blade speed and the shape and sharpness of the blade that makes the difference. Decks just sort of faciliate the dispersment of the grass. Free refunds on disagreements... By the way the 1850 is a really nice tractor compared to the 2110GR for the money and I think these blades will fit your BX deck if not it will be the ID of the blade. Both should be about 16.5 inches long. Let us know how it works out.

Greg here's a suggestion, check the side to side height for level. When you say weedeater I think of a deck that's out of level with the plane of cut. Ob1....

Hi thanks for the suggestion. Deck has been leveled side to side and back to front. they just said it doesn't cut write and ordered a different one.As far as buying new blades it's brand new and I spent over $14000 on this set up it should work or kubota should pay to fix it not me!! It cuts so bad I don't think any type of blade would help that much. I would like to know what they told the guy who started this thread if he has time to repley thanks

1*That's odd the 48 '' deck works fine on my BX1500.
2*Why wouldn't U B happy with a 54'' mower?
I would rather have the 54'' MMM over the 48''MMM.
Guess the 54'' deck on my CC GT2554 spoiled me on that.
3*I love my BX1500 too.

1*Why did you trade the 54''for a 48'' mower?
I have a 48'' mower on my BX1500 and a 54'' mower on my CC GT2554.
I like the 54'' mower much better.

I have a bx1850 I wanted the 48" because I have a small yard under an acre and a lot of obstacle to mow around I need a tractor with a loader for landscape and other small jobs and snow removal. When they told me how nice this mowed I decided to buy the mmm and get rid of my john deere mower one less engine. Know I've moved alot of things in the yard thats to the fel and am looking forward to trying the 54" if they ever decide to ship it.

I like the 54'' mower better than the 48'' mower because i can mow closer along ditches and banks with it than i can with the 48'' mower.

L it's on a GR2110 and I swapped the 54" out because I bottom out at 2.5 inch height setting going up my front yard banks on Rt.119 which are so unlevel my blades have leveled the slopes better than the State Road Gradal every thought off. Absolutely nothing wrong with the 54 inch deck but I must admit it really puts the GR in a bind in high grass.

What is the center ID on these blades? I have a G1800S with a 48" deck (RC48-G20), and it cuts like crap too. My Simplicity Javelin ZTR cuts much better, but has traction issues on my hills. If these will fit my deck, maybe it'll cut better. I can't get gator blades for it either. I'm not sure if my blades are as long, they may be a little shorter, but I have a grinder :)

Thanks,

Did you try 3.0 or 3.5 inches ?
I have always cut my grass at 4.0 and there is no scalping and my grass is greener and looks better than my next door neighbors browned out lawns that are cut lower than 4.0 inches on each side of me.
My grass don't look that much higher than theirs either.
It's not the length of the grass it's the levelness of it that counts.

Jas & LB....
The center ID = .715 vernier caliper which is between 45/64 & 23/32 or greater than 11/16 and less than 3/4 of an inch. The blade length is 16 9/16 inch as blades are measured diagonally end to end. To say the least I'm not pleased with the cut of this new 48 inch deck either with the OEM high lift blade or my old TG1860 48" deck blades which really did a good job compared to this new G2110 -54 model I traded for. What has Kubota done to these decks to make them cut so poorly?

A local dealer found no other option for my my RCK48-18BX deck so I finally took off the blades and measured everything in hopes of finding something else that would work. Armed with these numbers, 16 11/16" blade length & 11/16" round center mounting hole, I found one option and wanted some thoughts before proceeding.

Sears stocks 48" premium bagging blades [part numbers 7124679 (180054)] that are the exact length as mine, but have a 5/8 star shaped center hole. These are thicker and not nearly as flat. I think they would fit onto the Kubota spindle after filing away a bit of each of the star's center points, but I am leary of doing this for fear of damaging the deck spindles after using it a speed. Has anyone tried this?

I wouldn't try this ever. You could be so out of balance it would shake the blades loose. I know what blades you are talking about and don't try to cut the center star out. In another post I will get the name of a Service Engineer with Blount ( Oregon Cutting Systems ) and you can call and talk to him direct about a replacement Blade. They make Kubota Blades by Contract.
