Got a ratchet rake today to clear some of my woods to increase my lawn. What a versatile tool. It rips saplings out rather easily and does a really nice job in grading the ground.

I've watched the videos, and I can see how often in place of my landscape rake, I could make great use of one of those. There is not a dealer in my neck of the woods. I would sell my 7' Bush Hog angle blade to raise funds to purchase a ratchet rake.

I was surprised the mounting system worked as well as it does. It is really sturdy. Here my nephew and I are clearing some of our back yard area of saplings.

How much would you expect to pay for one of these? They make them right up the road from me, looks like a good alternative to a landscape rake.

I paid $299 and it is worth every penny to me. There is no way I could have cleared as much area as fast as I did without the rake.

I got my 68" RR at Tractor Supply for $329, but used TSC coupons and credit to cut that by $50. They are $299 to $359 on the RatchetRake.com website.

I've had mine for a few weeks and it certainly meets expectations. I have a real problem with multiflora rose and autumn olive and the rake just tears them out. I took out a 5inch trunk autumn olive easy, of course the ground here is soft with recent rain.

It is not as neat as seen on the video with a skidster, I have a JD 3038e, but it does work. After you drag the stuff out to a pile, you can tilt the rake and scrape the ground for seeding.

I have also put the bucket flat so that the lower teeth hit the ground and run across areas with lots of low honeysuckle. Tears it up nicely... So that a little brush killer will work even better.

It also is handy for quick repairs to potholes on my gravel drive. I haven't found it as useful for grading, but others might with different stone.

Good tool.

When you can find them TSC had the 72 inch model on clearance sale for $199. That is what I paid.

I saw the postings about the $199 rake, but it wouldn't have fit my bucket... And no TSC around here had a 72" model. Lordy I wish I could have saved the $200... But it is still a good tool.

TSC had this one in stock because a customer ordered it and never picked it up. Well worth the price in my opinion. ($299)

That is a nice setting you have there. It looks like that ratchet rake is just the ticket to handle your chores!
