Raising Rear Blade Working Height

Hello,

This is the combination I am posting about - John Deere 4052R; John Deere Quick Hitch Implement; Land Pride RBT 3596.

This combination worked great this past Winter used for snow pushing and plowing.

But, I'm having a problem doing some road work. On both sides of my gravel road there are dirt mounds that I need to nock down and spread out. My rear blade will not move up high enough to clear the dirt mounds. I measured the distance between the bottom edge of the rear blade and ground level, and it is approximately 12". I need the rear blade to go higher.

The Rockshaft Control Lever has numbers 1-6, but my rear blade does not start moving up until I move the lever between 4 and 5.

Here are photos of how I have my rear blade hooked up. Any thoughts on what's wrong?

Is your top link adjusted to its shortest length? In my experience that is the most direct contributor to lift height.

On my Kubota there are two mounting holes for the lower lift arms. I just had this issue as well and had to move to the top mounting hole so that the implements would lift higher. Not sure you have that option exactly but it may be worth checking out.

What about mounting the toplink to the tractor in the top hole. Seems like it give a bit more height. I thought bottm was for ground engaging and things like subsoliers, etc. below the ground with more lifting force.

Does John Deere 4052R have draft control?
Also agree on moving top link.

Fred, it appears you already have your top link as short as it will go?

Second idea, shorten the side links. They both are adjustable. Shorten the left one as far as it'll go. Then adjust the right one to get the tilt you are after.

Otherwise I don't have anything to offer. The 4xxx series Deere tractor is a bit small in chassis size for a blade this big. That's evident when you say you have your lift lever almost to the top before the tractor picks up the blade.

Looks to be as short as possible. I would still try a shorter top link ...

I did some experimenting with the adjustable lift arm on the right side of my 4052R . . . I turned it down so that only about ten thread grooves are showing. When I raised my rear blade it climbed to about 17", where as before, it would only climb to about 12". So maybe this is the solution I was looking for . . .

Now, I'm wondering if replacing the fixed lift arm on the left side of my tractor would give me even more lift, although not really needed. I'm searching for the part # of the adjustable lift arm for my 4052R.

Fred, looking at your pic it appears the left link is also adjustable? Shorten it as much as possible. Then use the right adjustable link to set tilt.
