Spent another night watching the weather radar on TV and our Iphones. Had hail, wind blowing 50 mph and RAIN, RAIN, RAIN!!!! Watched five different weather 'cells' march in from the southwest, pass violently over our house, then proceed over my mother's house, then my oldest daughter's house. Either three or four different tornado warnings from observers or 'doppler radar".

Nearly two weeks of this.

This is getting old fast.

Getting old is right. This is the wettest spring I've seen around these parts. Hard to find a minute of dry weather to get the grass mowed.

We haven't had the severe weather, but rain day after day. I'd be happy to share with some of our drought stricken friends.

We (St. Louis) have had 5 inches of rain since last Friday.

Just south of us, however, have received 15 inches of rain since last Friday.

It is a mess ... and now the flooding begins.

Well, here in Arkansas, we're VERY tired of the weather. Two nights in a row with multiple tornadoes, hail, thunderstorms and a total of over 9 inches of rain has got us pretty shell shocked!

160 + tornadoes yesterday nation wide, if you have electricity your doing better than than some people.

This April there has been over 700 tornadoes nation wide, broke the record by a long shot of 267 I think it was. Getting rough for allot of folks

I don"t mean to make light of the weather you all are having, but I would appreciate it if you could send some rain to us in Central Texas. We are already in a severe drought. If we revert to our normal patterns, we are looking at at least 2 months of no rain.

I no longer have a horse pasture, I have a dust bowl

Yes. +10. Amen.

After Hurricane Fran I wake up when I hear high winds. Last night we only had one thunder cell move through but we had some high winds. The winds and the thunder was never bad enough to get me out of bed but I was awake off and on listening.

Even with my eyes closed and asleep I can see the lightning and I start counting one Mississippi, two Mississippi, etc. I wake up counting.

This morning there were areas that had 60 mph wind gusts. :confused2: Thankfully we did not get wind that bad. Going across a large lake this am the wind was from the south and there were large white streaks in the water. What was strange is that there were no waves. That part of the lake has a large fetch of at least two miles and the waves should have been pretty big for the lake. There was quite a bit of muddy water so maybe the waves had died down. Strange either way.

Progressive Farmer magazine has a column about the weather. Their last issue said that El Nina was pushing the storms into the middle part of the country and as El Nina waned the storms would be pushed more east. El Nina with an jet stream dipping deep into the south to meet the warm, wet air from the gulf was going to mean bad weather. The weather dude seems to have gotten this forecast correct.

Sick of it I am.

Dan

In the northwest it doesn't rain as heavily as it does east of the Rockies, but it sure rains a lot. Had a break in January, but it has rained almost every day since. 3 days in April with no rain in Portland, but 30 miles SE of there we missed one of those no rain days and have had rain for all but 2 days so far this month.

The weather guessers are saying only partly cloudy for Saturday, but they have been giving Chamber of Commerce forecasts for the last several weekends and have been wrong every time.

At the 6,000 ft. mark on Mt. Hood, which is an 11,245 foot mountain, they had 689 inches of snow this season. That's 57 FEET! A lot has settled and some has melted, so it isn't that deep, but today's report says 208 inches on the ground at 6,000 ft. 28 inches in the last 72 hours. Usually they are really happy to see about 160 inches at the max depth for the season and some years they have much less than that on the ground.

The US ski team trains on Mt. Hood in the summer. Won't run out of snow this year!

It has been awful wet around here in NY as well. Yesterday they had tornado and flash flood watches out and today we had high winds. 83 mph gust was reported at the Niagara airport(couple miles north of us).

Crazy weather.:confused2:
