Was doing some seat time on the tractor this afternoon and had to come in because it started raining again. After having the coldest, wettest and dullest April and May in 51 years June was not much better and July has followed right along this pattern. This morning it was 11.4C or 52.5F at 6:30AM. Last week I had the wood stove in the shop on twice and one evening the wood stove in the house. The past few years we had hotter and longer summers than normal so definitely an off year for weather here. Our strawberry's ripened about 4 weeks late, then after a few days we had rain and showers and some went moldy. The main story on the 6PM TV news last night was about our poor weather and then followed by all the states that have heat or extreme heat warnings. For about the 5-6th time they did a story on how the heat has impacted Texas and other southern states. See the heat has now arrived in central Canada.
Not complaining, just making an observation.
Would much rather have our weather than weeks of 100 + degrees. Hope it both cools down and rains for everyone impacted by the heat and drought sure can't be much fun doing anything in that environment. On the bright side it does look like we are slowly going to be getting more sun over the next couple of weeks. May even be enough to turn our green grass brown.
