Raccoons messing with birdfeeders

Raccoons are coming now 4 at a time. I was wondering if this would work.......wrap a galvanized furnace run duct pipe around the 4x4 on this. Make it about 6 feet tall. Hopefully the raccoons would just slide down the tube. Do you think that would work?

We put ours on a 10ft four inch PVC pipe. Racoons and squirrels can't get up it.

Good luck with the raccoons. We keep our horse sweet feed in garbage cans with the lids strapped down with four bungee cords. Last fall the raccoons pried the lid off, climbed in, and got trapped. When my wife went to feed the horses she had a can full of coons. They are a serious pest around here. Garbage cans must be protected also.

should work fine. i use metal post here and then grease them up so i can watch the squirrels, etc just slid on down....:laughing:
