Rabbit and Turtle problem

Hope someone can help. My TC45 does not change to low range with the dash turtle/rabbit switch, it is stuck in high range. I took the switch apart and checked for continuity and it is working properly. I do not know how to check the relays and also, I do not know which relays are for the hi/lo range as the parts diagram is not available from the internet parts suppliers I have been looking at. I checked for voltage at the two wires leading to the solenoid and only one has power, the other wire does not have power upon switching the hi/lo switch. Don't know what this means. I have ordered 2 relays but won't get them in the mail for a few days. In the meantime, I have trucks coming with fill dirt to spread, so here is the question : is there a way to get the solenoid to low range temporarily until I can get to the bottom of the problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to TBN. :welcome: Sadly our resident expert on the TC series Jinman passed away not too long ago. Here is one of his posts on how the system operates. You can also use the search function at the top. I used the key words "rabbit turtle" and confined the search to the NH Owning/Operating forum.

Not only was Jim an expert on these NH systems, but he was a real Prince of a guy, always willing to help a person out. He will be missed.

The solenoid that drives the turtle rabbit feature is an energize to rabbit device. If the rabbit light is on, its electrical. If it isn't, the solenoid may be broke.

If you want to operate in turtle, just disconnect the wires to the solenoid.
