Long story short, my bil bought this Massey 230 with a crumpled up bucket (I never saw the bucket before he gave it away) Anyway I am using the tractor to haul some trees out in a patch of woods and I thought it would be nice to have something to push the logs into a pile after hauling them out.
I had a chunk of I beam off a house trailer tongue and when I picked up the tractor I noticed the two pieces of channel he had with a piece of angel welded on, they looked like the perfect fork to go on the beam! They stick out 18". I can't wait to try them out.

It looks nifty to me for sure but I gotta add something. Sooner or later ye'r gonna get carried away and some log is going to come back over onto your hydraulic cylinders. You might consider building up your the back a foot to eighteen inches or so with tube or rectangular tubing guard. Be safe and have a good time at' er.

hslogger, thank you and that has been brought up in another forum and I think you are correct. I will build a back stop of sorts, like on fork attachment.

Roger that. I don't think you will regret it.

tractor parts are replaceable, you are not.. There really needs to be a structure/stop between you and the loader.

The farmer was loading the second layer of bales, which required raising the bucket to near its maximum height above the tractor. The unsecured bale tumbled down the loader lift arms and struck the farmer while he was seated in the operator's seat of the tractor.

Make sure you consider the angles for the log stop with full curl back.

Onto the cylinders if he's lucky. Once the log has 'jumped the fence' it can just as easily roll down the loader arms and land in his lap.

Glad to hear he's making a taller backstop.
