After wrestling together a bush hog SQ160 onto the 3 pt hitch of my Kubota 3200, I have been thinking about a quick hitch.

I have looked on line at Speeco and Land pride, and have looked at videos from everything attachments, and Pat's. It appears Pats is more of an easy variable length attachment point rather than a back up and go hitch like the Speeco that can be operated from the tractor seat.

I would love to hear members experience to help guide my search. I also looked at TSC at what they had in stock, Countyline? Any advice, pros/ cons, or should I just keep the stock 3 pt setup? Shawn

I went with Pat's and here's why. In actual practice, 'back up and go' is very unlikely. All I care about is my overall time staying less than 5 minutes. Implements vary widely and a true easy hitch is very rigid. You can't really change the dimensions. Pats allows for varying all the dimensions, but it just makes everything easier. Just be aware you may have to buy a longer tip link with Pats because of increasing the overall size of the lower links by around 4 inches.

I agree with remington 270, I bought a landpride and found that it only works on a few of my implements, I feel like either I need to take the time and make the implements more compatible with my quick hitch or forget it all together. Seems like I use it much less than I thought. I would look into the a quick hitch that leaves the 3rd link on tractor if I were to do it again.

If Pat's adds 4 inches, will the drive shaft for the bush hog be too short? Going with the Speeco or other type quick hitch do they also lengthen the lift arms that much?

Most of them will lengthen the whole apparatus some. 4 inches is about the average. As for the PTO shaft, as long as you have a decent amount of overlap, you shouldn't have to buy a new one.

I've got the Land Pride, and unless there is a drive shaft to hook up, it IS just back up, pick up and go. And I like American made products. I didn't see much advantage to Pats, as the top link needs to be attached anyway... Just my personal preference.

I also have a cab JD4720 with an I-match hitch. It only fitted one implement I already had. I took it off and installed the Pats hitch. Everything worked out great for me. Yes, they do extend the hitch by 3 or 4 inches. That worked out to be a plus. I had a hyd top-link that was just a "smidgen" too long already. When it was completely retracted it worked fine for everything except the box blade. I couldn't tilt it as far forward as I needed to. Now I have just the right amount of adjustment both ways. I also bought a slip clutch for my pto to use with the rotary mower. I leave the slip clutch on all the time. It actually makes it eaiser to hook up the pto shafts. I don't think the pto shafts on my finish mower, rotary mower, or fertilizer distributor would have been too short, I just wanted to protect them with a slip clutch. I would be willing to sell my I-match to anyone close enough to come and pick it up. I never use it anymore.

SPMMD , you said you looked at TSC, speedco ect. it that is the type of QH your looking for look at Harbor freights quick hitch, i have 2 of them, one on each tractor and they work very nicely.I had to modify all of my equipment to fit the hitch but newer stuff fits nicely. The price is stupid low for what youde buy at TSC. Only thing with Harbor freight is you will need to buy a top link adapter for thehitch, its about 9.00$ extra, and its available only if you call in i believe. If you want the part # i have it somewhere just PM me and i'l get it out to you. Where in Oswego are you? I'm down by Panther Lake . . .John

I just bought Pats easy hitch hitch and I love it! I have a JD3320 and i used to spend a lot of time trying to hook up my rotary cutter which is a real pain to hookup. Now it takes no time at all. I have a JD I-match quick hitch and I don't like it because you have to modify all your attachments and it won't work on all the attachments (i.e. post hole digger). No matter what QH you buy you still have to get off your tractor to hook up your PTO. I bought mine from Northern Tool which was $10 less than anywhere else and got free shipping.
