Quick disconnect hydraulic coupler leaking when mated...

Searching for leaking couplers, quick-disconnects, fittings, etc provides an overwhelming number of false positive results. I apologize if this is a commonly discussed issue - but I couldn't find it.

I noticed today that one of the four FEL QD hydraulic fittings has a pretty good drip going (maybe 1 drip every 10 seconds). I separated the fittings (all were under no pressure w/bucket on the ground) and the leaking stopped.

Thus, I would assume the problem is with the o-ring in the female coupling that is designed to trap the fluid in the space between the two mating parts.

I've attached a photo. Since I'm sans manual, I figured I'd post a request for help here. Does anyone know the brand/type of fitting this is? And are o-ring replacements even available? Is that something I should be able to do on my own, or should I just replace the whole fitting?

My 2 year full warranty expires in Feb, so if this is a covered item, and I haven't got it resolved by the time I take it in for the rest of my punch list, I'll just have the dealer fix it. For now, I've disconnected the coupling to prevent further leaking.

It’s fairly common to have these leak. Any debris can score the seals and cause a little leak. They cost about $20 and aren’t worth fixing- to my knowledge anyway.
The fittings are the standard “ag” style. I can’t recall the size- which is common- I think it’s 3/8 but I’m not 100%. Most hydraulic or truck shops will have them.

It will say right on the side of the coupler. It is prolly a Parker. In any case they are very common. It is prolly a number 8 hose thread size. Bruce

Who knows on brand. My 1538 had Stucchi couplings between the loader and chassis and the dealer used Safeway couplers at the grapple. Parker is also a common brand. Either way the ag style should all be interchangeable- as long as the size is the same.

Well, I went to the TSC and they didn't have the poppet style that matched, so I just bought a new set (1/2" npt) for $22, and replaced both sides. Simple fix and it works. The male end now has a ball instead of a pin.

TSC seems to have a cult following. After reading on this forum I actually made a special trip to visit the closest one. What a let down- I was unimpressed.
Next time try one of your local places. When I moved I was convinced their wouldn’t be anything around in my little area. After some time I found a little auto parts store, a truck repair shop and the tractor dealer all have a good supply.

That might well be. For me, I'd never set foot in a TSC store until last month when I bought my first tractor. I have slim pickings in my area...

Hopefully you won't be disappointed with your new couplers. Very, very common for this type of coupler to leak when all pressure is released.
