Quick coupler grease fittings

I'm having trouble greasing the recessed zerks on my Kioti 4-in-1 bucket. They're in pins with a recess diameter of 15.0mm. All the other pins on the FEL have recesses around 20mm diameter.

My two quick-connects have an external diameter of 16.0mm, so - too big.

My old coupler fits, but does not adequately seal on the zerk, so the grease just comes out, with none actually going into the zerk.

Are there any couplers which are <15.0mm diameter which do the job?

Have you tried changing the size of the "grip" (opening of the collet) on the old style?
They are normally assembled by a gorilla so they may require two pair of plyers to twist.

It pushes on OK, and even after fully tightening the sleeve, it still does not seal properly. It does on one of the zerks, but all the others just let grease ooze out between the coupler and the recess.

It is a PITA to release from the zerk, requiring almost unscrewing the sleeve to allow the coupler to be pulled off.

Is there a quick-release coupler with an OD <15mm?

I found one , Macnaught KY+ load and lube . According to the diagram 14.7mm diameter barrel on it . Company from Australia looks to be very high quality, 30.00 on amazon

I couldn't find the dimension of the tube anywhere, but the video does show it in comparison with other quick-attach couplers, so yeah, 14.7mm looks about right.

OK - road test!

While it fitted nicely into the recess, initially I was very disappointed with the KY+. It didn't seem to lock on to the zerk, and spewed grease:

So, investigated the zerks. Fitted half a dozen from my zerks box, and problem solved:

Note the quite different profile. Also the profile of the thread - the after market thread has flattened peaks, but they screwed in nicely. Just remembered, the box of assorted zerks stated they were "metric", so that probably accounts for the different thread profile. The thread pitch looks identical. But that's all I had on hand and needed to get the pins greased.

The take home? The Macnaught KY+ does a great job if paired with a compatible zerk. And yep, 14.7mm diameter.

Nice work figuring out the leakage, sometimes you've got to look magnifying glass close to see issues. So will the ky+ not work on the other OEM zerts on your Kioti? I ordered myself one also. I've got lock and lube brand couplers on 3 grease guns and absolutely love them, they seal tight on any zerk I lock them too. Thought I'd get the ky+ to use in case I run into recessed zerk clearance issues like you.

I have the Alemlube quick connect coupler for the majority of greasing on the Kioti, using a Macnaught K29 gun. The Alemlube coupler is fantastic - very positive, and easy to disconnect, with no mess.

Out of interest I'll try the KY+ coupler on all the other zerks tomorrow (other than the six on the 4-in-1 bucket), but the KY+ is fitted to a small Rox Handy-gun which is a PITA to load with grease, so will just use that for the six zerks on the 4-in-1 bucket.
