Kubota BX 2660
I'm considering a Kubota BX2660 or JD 1025R. Looking at the JD quick connect system I am very impressed. However one still must leave the seat to disconnect the hydraulic hoses. My Question (not having owned a tractor prior) is on the Kubota can you disconnect the hydraulic lines for the loader when you dismount the seat to set the arms for parking the loader? Or is there is still line pressure to worry about, if so can you relieve it without having to remount before removing the hoses? Thank you in advance for your information and advice.

When I stop my BX, with parking brake set, where I want to leave the loader, I don't remount the tractor after unlocking the loader stand.
I just stand at the right side of the tractor to manipulate the loader control so I can pull the pins, etc., then shut down engine, relieve hydraulic pressure and disconnect the lines.
Remount tractor, start up and drive away.

Thanks for the insight Pete. While the JD system is more convenient, it didn't look to me like the Kubota bucket would be hard to park/attach. So if you are not getting up and down off the tractor any more than on the JD, I guess it is not a such a big issue in the buying decision. Attaching the deck may be a different issue, JD has the edge there I'd say.

I do have a 54" deck for my BX24, but don't often use it. I got my BX used, it came with mower deck, snow blower & back blade.
It does take a good 10 minutes to muscle the deck under the tractor and attach the shaft & linkages.
Same with removing it.

I'm sure you'll be happy with your machine, whatever way you go... both great, capable machines.

The Kubota's deck does offer a couple more inches of ground clearance over the deere design and most people don't worry to much about the removal because of this.

Here is a good video, the Kubota loader is really easy to mount/dismount, maybe not as quick as the John Deere, but really easy. I agree, our ground clearance on our John Deere 2305 is like that on the 1025R so that is a plus. The deck on the JD is easier to remove though.

The John Deere also has the position control 3PH while Kubota has the quarter inching 3PH, I much prefer the position control, not an issue for others. Both are really good, capable machines and must b judged as a whole.

To all, Thanks for the information. Art, when you mentioned ground clearance is that while using the loader or while mowing. (I'm a real newbie!:newhere:

A few main reasons (I think) the JD wins over the BX:

-The loader joystick is in a much more ergonomic position on the JD's. The joystick on the BX looks very uncomfortable to use.
-The Quick Attach Bucket (JDQA) on the loader allows for very convenient use of forks or other such implements vs. the pinned-on bucket on the Kubota. Or you can just remove the bucket easily rather than the whole loader if you'd like.
-Position control on the 3PH as already mentioned.
-I don't like the treadle/boomerang pedal design.

Thanks Kenny. I see your point on all issues. I do need to learn more about options on the Kubota that are more obvious/there already on the JD. For the "size" I'm looking at I am concerned about the rear PTO on the JD. I have seen "some" reviews on the JD 2305 and 1026R that people have had major breakdowns and repairs on the rear PTO system. I have not read that the noted problems have been fixed on the JD 1025R. In fact to avoid certain Gov. Regs. they have reduced the horse power by 1hp on the 2013 1025R. My used equipment availability is limited in NJ as there are too many people chasing too few pieces. Also, I have not read about similar issues with like Kubotas. I really appreciate this education. Mike
