Have a Kubota L3130, with Bolt-on Vernig Grapple. While bush-hogging in heavy brush yesterday, had the hydraulic lines for the Grapple pulled out of the rear remote. Could not reconnect them. My son who's considerably stronger then me, also was unable to push them far enough in. Read previous threads on this last night and today went out and bled the lines at the rear remote. Was able to re-connect the line that closes the Grapple, but couldn't re-connect the line that opens it.

Is there pressure behind the small locking balls in the female end? Was able to push in the "poppet -?" in the female end with a steel rod and drained out a small amount of hdraulic fluid.

Is it possible that the locking balls were somehow damaged when the line was pulled out at an odd angle?

120 miles round trip to my Dealer, so hope to avoid having to bring it there.

Any and all comments appreciated.

How about relieving the pressure on the cylinder end of the line you cannot connect. Push the little poppet the same way you did the female.

IF it is the male end, you can smack it against a piece of steel to vent it. Just hold it in your hand, hose up and fitting down and pretend you are going to rubber stamp something with it. Don't look at it while you are doing it. this works for small ammounts of volume, say relieving pressure in a closed system from temperature changes. If it is the line to the bottom or lifting side of the cylinder, the weight of the grapple arms on the cylinder could be pressurizing it in which case you will have to re-orient the bucket/grapple to take the weight/load off the cylinder and relieve the pressure that way.

Another thing you can try...
Move your valve lever briefly to pressurize one of the lines by bumping it. That usually relieves pressure on the other one. Then you can connect that one. Bump the lever the other way to relieve pressure for the second connection and it should hook up too. See if that works.

One thing I'm concerned about is if the QD's were ripped off when they were attached is possible damage to the balls or retaining races? You can visually inspect them. IMO, you should still be able to connect them, but their retaining value may have been compromised a little? Dunno for sure though.

Did you get this fixed. ? I forgot like the last guy said if the load is up in the air then there is probably pressure on the coupling. Relieve that either by letting it bleed out or holding it up

There is an internal retaining ring that holds the female QD in the block that can pop out. If that happens you won't be able to hook up since the whole fitting just slides back with the push. The ring holds the sleeve so that the push/pull method of connecting works. I have had this problem with my L3130.
