I was wondering if anyone had a Quick Attachment for their FEL? I am thinking on getting one, but I don’t know where to start. Is there one that is a “bolt on” for a Massey 1525 FEL? Is there anything else special that has to be bought to use the stock bucket with the attachment? Where to get it? I have looked at http://www.preseeder.com , but I don’t see my tractor listed and it really isn’t straight forward on how this thing works or how it installed.

It seems to me to be a pain in the butt to keep on removing this loader when I don’t need it, because every time I do remove it I need to use the thing. So I was thinking just removing the bucket would be fine for me at having the room to get around fencing and other things.

Also if you do have one of Quick Attachments, could you show me some pics of it or point me to pics… Thanks

EDIT... After reading the .pdf AGAIN (from the above link) I understand more about it. I see it bolts on to the FEL of the tractor, but you have to have a bracket welded to the bucket. Am I correct on all of this or is there a simpler attachment out there?

massey makes a quick pin adapter and also a bobcat style q/a for them it looks like the q pin is the way to go for me i think it requires no mods on the bucket..

Thanks... Yes a saw that in the massy book, "very" small pics of them.

I guess I have to think about what way to go, yes the pins will let me take the bucket on and off, but I wont (I think) be able to use the other stuff that goes on the "bobcat" style.

I've got a 1533 with 1525 loader and skid steer type quick attach. It works great for us. I regularly change between a buck and pallet forks. I also occasionaly use a skid steer type boom pole on the FEL. My tractor came with a 66" skid steer bucket. I'll get the part numbers off my bucket and mount and pot them here tomorrow evening.

Both systems have their advantages. The pin type QA is by far the least expensive if you don't require interchange with rented Bobcat attachments. The Bobcat type obviously allows this. The only real negative that I can see with that type is that it has to have the mating plate for each attachment even the original bucket unlike the pin type.
If you download the ATI catalog, on page 33 your loader is listed for the Quick Attach. They also say that they will build either type if they have the specs. Since they do have the specs. for your loader they can build either one that you want.
BTW, the last time that I checked the MF QAs were less expensive that even ATI if they were ordered through Whole Goods and not parts. I don’t know if they still are or not.

what is whole goods and can you get all parts that way or just big stuff???

Whole Goods are the parts that the dealer can order to come in with new tractors or equipment. I guess that you could say that it is mostly big parts. It includes tires with wheels, grill guards, canopies, loader quick attachments etc. The only problem with ordering this way is that it might take longer to get the part, but it is a lot cheaper.

Here are the part numbers off my quick attach and bucket. The quick attach is : 7541710 and under the number it says "Adapter Skid Steer QA F/MF" The bucket number is: 7541705 and it says "Bucket 66" HD Skid Steer". These parts came on my tractor when I purchased it from a Massey dealer at the end of last year. That quick attach adapter will let you use any Bobcat / Skid Steer attachments. So far I've purchased a Edge (CE attachments) pallet fork and a Worksaver boom pole and they all mount up just fine. If you want pictures of the setup let me know and I can post some in a day or two.

Thanks for the replies... I guess I am going to go with the "Messy Pin" type. I talked to the dealer today and he has both in stock. The pin type will be the easy way out I guess (money) and still do what I want it to do. If I want other stuff for it, I will just have to buy Massy attachments or aftermarket that will fit my loader. Dumb me didn't ask how much the pin attachment was, but I'm taking there Thursday for its 50hr service and I'll ask about it then.

If I remember correctly when we got our tractor the quick attach setup added about $300 to the price. It's been worth it though. We were able to pickup a set of pallet forks at a really good price. Lots of times I change back and forth between the bucket and pallet forks 2 or 3 times a day so having the quick attach makes it fast to make the change.
