Hello,

I've got a solid dealer not too far from me that sells McCormick and Branson, both. I've paid more attention to McCormick to be honest, but is there any particular reason to favor one over the other? I'm particularly looking between the McCormick X1.37H and the 3620H.

The dealer has been around a hot minute, and have weathered multiple economic downturns, and the salesman isn't pushing me towards one or the other.

I think one is not better than the other. The only difference is probably the loader. If You like the McCormick better go for it.

McCormich X1.37H has the same engine as the Branson line I believe (Kukje). And the Branson is about the same weight.
And there is good reason to believe that it is made by Branson in South Korea.
Can't go wrong with either one.
I've been looking between the McCormick, Branson and LS brands in the sam HP range.

Do they happen to have both models you're considering on the lot?

A lot can be determined with an afternoon of crawling around on them. Try them both out and see which one you favor?

A quick glance at the McCormick specs. The 37 is a four cylinder vs the 3620's three. It's probably a larger displacement engine. The 37 has a much lower loader capacity, around 1400 lbs vs 2800 for the Branson. I'd verify that as it sounds low for that size machine.

When I bought my Branson I tested the 3520 and 4820 as they did not have a 3725 in yet. The smaller machine's triple felt and sounded rougher but not in a bad way, just more mechanical. I ended up with the 3725 for the power but the smoothness is nice. It's a little less tractor like than the 3520 was.

The newer 20 series has the ability to run regens which is a bonus, especially if you're where it gets cold. With the older ones you have to get the DPF hot enough often enough to clean it out which is not a problem for most people but can be if it's really cold or your uses are short and easy. I don't know if McCormick has that.

The dealer should be able to run down the differences and the advantages/disadvantages of each. And let you play with them.

Unfortunately, all they have on the lot are large McCormick machines, the ones made in Italy. I've looked at both before, but they never seem to have them at the same time- their inventory doesn't seem to sit long lol.
