CK 30
New to this board I read up to no. 37 so far.
I bought a CK 30 2 weeks ago. Have to say it seems like Kioti's have a lot of problems. I have an old 80 model Kubota for the last 15 years its a grey tractor so you can't get parts for it, lucky for me I have not had one problem with it untill one of the rear tires rusted out and won't hold air, so I figured its time to get a new tractor. The 1st dealer I went to was a Kioti dealer I had never heard of Kioti before but I was very impressed by what I saw,the price was right at $13,200 out the door with loader, standard trans. So I went down the road to see Kubota's very uninpressed with size and price, I even said to the salesman they looked like a baby compared to Kioti, next J.D. same thing only smaller. Went back and bought a Kioti, got it the next day.I like the tractor very much I hope I don't see all the problems I see on this board, I only use it for snow removal and a little bushhogging in the woods. I use a 60in. zero for all grass cutting. 20 acres with long drive with a bit of a hill Kentucky if you know what I mean.
This is my question the rollbar on the 30 is very high can't get it in the barn without putting it down one notch, will this hold the tractor if it rolls I don't plan on rolling it but it happens and if this will not hold one notch down I don't want to use the seatbelt. Thanks

well,I'm just 6 months ahead of you,I bought a ck30 gear 6 months ago,got about 65 hours on it,did my first service already. Have used it with 5 ft kk tiller,5 ft hog and 6 ft blade so fars, very solid smooth operating tractor in all those uses, started real easy this winter the few times I wanted it to.

Got rear tires loaded, and 19-20 psi in them,30 in front,[don't have a fel]. Like those wide industrial tires so far.

The roll bar is tall, got mine on next hole down and don't wear a seat belt with anything.

As far as reading about all the trouble with them,I also read before buying, and can honestly tell you I wouldn't have bought one if I was as concerned about that as you. I didn't notice much real complants, yeah a few but,if you read on any of these tractor make sections you'll find as many or more, matter of fact there seems to be alot more good said than bad about the kioti.

And like you said, more bang for your buck than the big three. But like I said on the mahindra forum, they all break.

This is a board where owners often seek advice on maintenance and discuss problems. That should not be interpreted as showing that Kioti tractors have a lot of problems. Don't make the mistake of thinking that because a problem is discussed on TBN that such discussions give any information about the actual incidence of such issues.

Regarding the ROPS, those are engineered to be upright, not tilted back to lower it.

Welcome to the pack. I have the same problem with the barn and roll bar. I have twice forgotten to lower it and have hit the header over the door.

I don't think it's safe to have the bar one notch down because of what Island said. Try hanging a string or something in the barn door to remind you to lower the bar.

As for the problems, I second what Island has said. If you add the combined hours of use on the forum vs the dialogue I think you'd conclude that this is a sample of things to "talk about" such as problems or issues and not a general usage summary.

Enjoy the tractor, I bet you'll be very happy with it! I've had my CK30 for just a couple of months now and have hit 51 hours already.

As people said above, a lot of people come here for advise on certain situations that they have. When people do run into a problem, and think to themselves lets go on the Internet and see if I can find info on this problem. They find sites like this great one and ask there question. What you don't have is all the people that have no issues are not really going to go out of there way and go to sites like this one and say how good things are for them. I am one that does however, and there are many on this site that do too, and we all really love our Kioti's. I hope all this makes some sense, it is just my option.

Well,he did say he bought one.

That roll bar would provide more protection cocked, than not on at all.But agree probably not as much as standing straight up.

Read somewhere,[must have been on here] about somebody cutting bottom off and shortening it.

But really like the fact that it does move, mowing around trees is easier, plus, several things you do,you know you ain't going to roll it,[mowing on flat known ground, tilling in your garden, etc].

Than you have the option when working in less favorable conditions to raise it up.

I agree. This site is great, especially for folks like me who are on their first tractor. I am going on 4 years with my CK20, and could not be happier with it. I have learned alot by sitting back and observing the site.
My garage door has to be ALL the way up to get out, and I have nicked it more then once with the ROPS (when I was in a hurry). Thats why I leave the ROPS up-because accidents happen when your in a hurry.

Accidents just happen,in a hurry not in a hurry etc.

Experience and thinking through situations before you do them helps.

But lack of experience is probably the reason people have little accidents on these tractors.

Many have never been on any piece of equipment before, and they go buy a 20-40 hp 4 wd tractor with a fel and sometimes backhoe, get on it and watch out.

If you are a young man and your desire is to run heavy equipment, you go to a bigger company and tell them this, they will probably hire you but not to run their stuff, they will start you out as a oiler or swamper or laborer first, than a year or so later, you might get the chance to start it up and play with it in a real safe spot for a few min

Most dangerous thing anybody ever does[unless they are in the military nowadays],is get in their car and drive down the road.
Puttering around on a tractor in your yard is pretty safe compared to that.
