Question about JD 440 loader and quick tach feature.

I'm a new owner of a JD 1070 tractor with a 440 loader. I've read in a number of posts that a 440 loader has a "quick tach" bucket.

What is meant by "quick tach" on this loader? I own a skid steer and it has a universal quick attachment mount on the arms and on the attachments, but not the same as on my 440 FEL. Are there implements made to quick attach to the 440 loader, or can the 440 loader arms be easily adapted to the modern quick attach system?

Since I've got some skid steer implements, I would like move toward adapting them for use on my 440 loader arms. What do I need to do to make it all compatable?

Welcome to the forum Jerry! You can buy adapter plates that adapt your loader to skid steer style. I can't think of the company's off hand, I am sure someone will chime in in a while. You can also buy the hooks and pins com John Deere and weld them on your attachments. You used to could get them anyway I haven't checked in a while. I have a 420 loader on my 4200. You may have to do some googling to find some manufactures. LUTT

That refers to the the fact that you can pull the keepers on the two pins, curl the bucket down, and drive away from it. No, it's not the same system used by skid steers, so you would need an adapter as lutt says to connect to other implements.
