Anyone have any experience with these trailers?

Geterdumped

I'm looking at a NEW 7'x14' 14K Low Profile Dump Trailer with ramps, roll-up tarp, spare tire and combo gate for about $2,400 less than a comparable Bri-Mar (minus the tarp) Just don't know about the longevity and/or quality compared to the Bri-Mar. Anyone have/use one of the Quality Steel brand trailers??

Also just found a Griffin in the same size with 10ga floor and sides(QS is 11ga) but with no tarp for $100 less.

Carry-on out of Lavonia,Ga has a great 7x14 14k you can buy for around 6000 to 6500 range and to my knowledge the largest trailer manufacturer in the US (do not know this for sure but they supply all Lowes and Tractor Supply stores and was told that by one of their salesman). I've been selling them on my car lot for over 4 years and have sold a couple hundred with only two comebacks which we're not the fault of Carry-on but they covered the cost anyway. Call your local dealer if this interest you.

Shop some other brands like PJ trailers.

I was in the same mindset as you when I bought my dump trailer in 06.
I thought wow, I can save $2500 buying a Texas Pride trailer. In reality, I could have bought a quality, well built, brand name trailer, and upgraded to the next size up by the time I made a decent trailer out of the "less than quality" trailer I had bought.
The moral to this story is that there are unscrupulous people in this world, so you won't always get what you pay for. But you will always, in all circumstances, pay for what you get.

If you're going to spend your hard earned money, go for the known quality product.

I'll look into them, don't know if there's a dealer anywhere near me. Thanks.

They're on my possibility list, just wondering if anyone had any knowledge/experience with the Quality Steel brand. Never seen them before.

Yeah, I'm definitely comparing quality. Just can't ask the dealer about longevity, you know they're always gonna tell you theirs is the best out there. Just looking to see if anyone had any experience with the Quality Steel or Griffin brands.

Thanks guys.

I bought a Byson dump trailer a few years ago. It's held up good, but I ordered it with a 10 gauge floor instead of the standard 12 gauge. The paint job ( powder coat ) was miserable, parts behind other parts weren't even coated. A couple of grease fittings were missing (discovered a couple years later). Just do a through inspection of whatever you buy before signing the final papers.

Good plan. I recently stopped to check out a 7x14 enclosed trailer for sale by an individual. Diamond Cargo was the brand name. 2009 model. I crawled under and looked at the crossmembers. Not impressed with size/thickness. The guy's sign said $4k firm. I drove down the road to a dealer and ordered a brand new 7x18 Kristi with more features for $1100 more.

I don't know anything about Quality Steel or Griffin brand trailers. But what ever brand you look at, make sure they are using American made axles and suspension. That was one of the major expenses getting my trailer up to par. The axle tubes actually bent going down the road, and I was 1000 lbs. under GVWR. Chinese made axles.
Make sure where their components come from.
